All-American second-team selection by The NFL Draft Report...All-Pac 10 Conference first-team choice...Started every game at strongside outside linebacker, leading the team with a career-high 121 tackles (62 solos), including six sacks for minus 43 yards and 21 stops for losses of 72 yards...Deflected seven passes and had a quarterback pressure...Caused two fumbles and blocked a kick.

Eastern Kentucky...On the season's opening drive, he tackled tailback Terry Ennis, causing a fumble and finished the day with 11 tackles (7 solos) and 3 stops behind the line of scrimmage.
Temple...Followed with another 11 tackles.
Nevada-Las Vegas...Assisted in sacking QB Jason Thomas for a 3-yard loss and collected 10 tackles (5 solos).
Fresno State...Collected 6 tackles with 2 stops for losses and a pass deflection.
Southern California...Posted 8 solo tackles, including one that stopped tailback Sultan McCullough behind the line of scrimmage and deflected 2 passes.
UCLA...Blocked a 27-yard field goal attempt that was recovered by OSU cornerback Dennis Weathersby for a touchdown return (83 yards) and registered 12 tackles.
Arizona State...Followed with 10 tackles (7 solos) and assisted in sacking QB Andrew Walter for a 5-yard loss.
California...Sacked QB Kyle Boller for a 5-yard loss, causing a fumble on the play as he also came up with 2 stops for losses of 11 yards, a pass deflection and 10 tackles (7 solos).
Arizona...Sacked QB Jason Johnson for a 12-yard loss and delivered 5 hits (4 solos).
Stanford...Made 10 tackles with a sack, 2 stops for losses and a pass break-up. Washington...Totaled 12 tackles as he sacked QB Cody Pickett for an 8-yard loss and had 3 stops behind the line of scrimmage.
Oregon...Posted 7 tackles (5 solos) with 4 stops for minus 8 yards and a pass deflection.
Pittsburgh (Insight.com Bowl)...Closed out his career with 9 tackles as he sacked QB Rod Rutherford for a 9-yard loss and tackled tailback Brandon Miree for minus 2 yards.

2001 SEASON
All-Pac 10 Conference honorable mention, starting every game at strongside linebacker...Made 73 tackles (41 solos) with two sacks for minus 11 yards and six stops for losses of 20 yards...Had one interception and four pass deflections...Credited with five quarterback pressures and caused a fumble.

Fresno State...Collected 8 tackles with 3 stops for minus 5 yards.
Washington State...Added 8 tackles (5 solos) as he sacked QB Jason Gesser for a 9-yard loss, causing a fumble.
California...Registered a career-high 18 tackles (11 solos) with 4 pressures.
Southern California...Followed with 11 tackles (8 solos) as he assisted in sacking QB Carson Palmer for a 2-yard loss while also picking off a pass and deflecting 2 others.
Oregon...Closed out the season with 8 tackles (5 solos) and a pass break-up.

2000 SEASON
Moved from strong safety to strongside outside linebacker during spring drills, but started five games at weakside linebacker... Recorded 44 tackles (34 solos) with three stops for losses of 4 yards...Recovered two fumbles and deflected a pass.

New Mexico...In his first career start, he totaled 8 tackles (6 solos).
San Diego State...Recovered 2 fumbles, returning one 9 yards and had 6 tackles.
Southern California...Added 5 tackles and a stop for a 2-yard loss.
Stanford...Registered 8 tackles (7 solos).
Notre Dame (Fiesta Bowl)...Collected 2 solo tackles and 2 stops behind the line of scrimmage.

1999 SEASON
Reserve strong safety, seeing most of his action on special teams...Recorded 11 tackles (6 solos).

Nevada and Fresno State...Made 2 tackles in each game.
Hawaii (Oahu Bowl)...Had a solo tackle.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended A.B. Miller (Fontana, Cal.) High...Played for two years under Coach John Tyree...As a junior, Nick was a first-team all-league (Citrus Belt) selected at safety and he also played wide receiver...Also was an outstanding performer in track and field as a junior, winning the league 300 meter intermediate hurdle title in 39.6 and placing second in the 110 meter high hurdles at 15.4... Competed in the discus (130-0) and the shot put (47-5)...As a senior, he played tight end and out-side linebacker...Caught 16 passes for 326 yards (20.4 avg)...The Rebels had a 9-2 record and lost in the first round of the CIF Division I playoffs...Nick missed the final four games of the season with an injury and was named second-team all-league at linebacker...Graduated with a 3.8 grade point average.
