An "electric" player, he opened the past three seasons with a roar, only to see ankle and toe injuries slow him...Along with quarterback Marquel Blackwell, he was one of the most exciting players in the Bulls offense, and an outstanding return man to boot...Provided deep speed and a nice passing target for Blackwell, who teamed with Rubin throughout youth leagues, high school, and college...Registered 1306 yards with 14 touchdowns on 91 receptions (14.4 avg) in 42 games...Only Charlie Jackson (104, 1997-2000) had more catches in a career for the Bulls...Set school all-time records as he returned 59 kickoffs for 1534 yards (26.0 avg) and a score and 64 punts for 1049 yards (16.4 avg) and four touch- downs...His 3898 all-purpose yards broke the old South Florida career-record of 3289 yards by Jackson.

2002 SEASON
Appeared in the first ten games, starting eight contests (did not start the first two)...Made 18 catches for 357 yards (19.8 avg) and three touchdowns...Returned 29 punts for a school season-record 432 yards (14.9 avg) and set another USF record with two returns for scores...Gained 402 yards on 15 kickoff returns (26.8 avg) and a touchdown...Averaged a team-high 119.1 all-purpose yards per game (1191 yards)...Only Jermaine Clemons (1319 in 1997) gained more all-purpose yards in a season for the Bulls.

Florida A&M...Opened the season with a 56-yard punt return for a score.
Northern Illinois...Came off the bench to snatch 4 passes for 126 yards and a pair of scores, including a school record 95-yarder, adding 3 punt returns for 95 yards and a 55-yard touchdown and a 14-yard kickoff return.
North Texas...Caught 3 passes for 31 yards and returned 4 punts for 38 yards.
Southern Mississippi...Followed with 4 receptions for 100 yards, 2 kickoff returns for 56 yards and a pair of punt returns for 59 yards.
East Carolina...Added a 54-yard touchdown grab, 2 kickoff returns for 45 yards and 3 punt returns for 44 yards.
Charleston Southern...Scored on an 82-yard kickoff return.
Memphis...Made 4 catches for 36 yards, returned 5 punts for 57 yards and had 3 kickoff returns for 78 yards.
Houston...Did not play in the season finale (ankle sprain).

2001 SEASON
Played in every game, starting the first two and final two contests at the "X" receiver position...Caught a career-high 34 passes for 532 yards (15.6 avg) and four touchdowns... Returned 26 punts for 406 yards (15.6 avg) and a score...Added 165 yards on eight kickoff returns (20.6 avg).

Northern Illinois...Opened the season with 3 catches for 121 yards with scores of 52 & 57 yards, adding 40 yards on 2 kickoff returns and 17 yards on 2 punt returns.
Pittsburgh...Caught a school game-record 11 passes for 144 yards (only Cliff Dell, 149 yards vs. Kentucky Wesleyan in 1997 gained more yards in a game for the Buffs) and a pair of touchdowns, returned 4 kickoffs for 85 yards and had 3 punt returns for 42 yards, but left the game with turf toe and a high ankle sprain.
Southern Utah...Gained 15 yards on 2 catches and 76 yards on 4 punt returns. Western Illinois...Made 3 catches for 81 yards and returned 4 punts for 54 yards.
Utah State...Closed out the season with 6 receptions for 57 yards and a school record 91-yard punt return for a touchdown.

2000 SEASON
Was having a banner season until suffering a severe ankle sprain in the fifth game vs. Troy State that would limit his production the rest of the year...Played in ten games as he made 17 catches for 189 yards (11.1 avg) and two touchdowns...Returned nine punts for 211 yards (23.4 avg) and a score, adding 389 yards on 14 kickoff returns (25.1 avg).

Jacksonville State...Had touchdown receptions of 28 & 16 yards in the season opener.
Kentucky...Returned 3 kickoffs for 79 yards and 2 punts for 34 yards.
James Madison...Scored on an 81-yard punt return.
Baylor...Snatched 8 passes for 53 yards, returned 3 kickoffs for 131 yards and gained 29 yards on 3 punt returns.
Troy State...Missed most of the game and the entire Southern Mississippi contest with a severe ankle sprain.
Middle Tennessee...Set up a scoring drive with a 77-yard kickoff return, gaining 142 yards on 3 attempts.

1999 SEASON
Played in every game, starting vs. Troy State at split end...Finished with 22 catches for 228 yards (10.4 avg) and five touchdowns...Returned 23 kickoffs for 578 yards (25.1 avg).

Western Kentucky...Scored on catches of 26 & 6 yards and also had a 32-yard kickoff return.
Troy State...Had a 26-yard touchdown catch and 4 kickoff returns for 73 yards. New Hampshire...Returned 4 kickoffs for 113 yards and made 3 catches for 32 yards.
New Haven...Added 135 yards on 5 kickoff returns and 47 yards on 5 receptions with 1 & 15-yard touchdowns.

1998 SEASON
Redshirted as a freshman.

4.42 in the 40-yard dash...35.5-inch vertical jump...Right-handed.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Dixie Hollins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) High...Played with USF quarterback Marquel Blackwell and former defensive end Tchecoy Blount...Also the same high school that produced former USF cornerback Glenn Davis, head coach Jim Leavitt and defensive coordinator Rick Kravitz...Played on the 1995 team that reached the state championship game.

Psychology major...Son of Eloise Rubin, his father, Charles Core, drowned when Rubin was 11 months old...Father had given him a teddy bear for his first Christmas in 1978 and he places it in his locker during every game...Born 10/08/78...Resides in St. Petersburg, Florida.
