Green Bay vs. Miami - Postgame Quotes - Miami

Regular Season - Packers Win 23-18

HEAD COACH JIMMY JOHNSON:
"Our guys gave every effort against an outstanding football team.

"You gotta make the plays; we didn't make enough to win the game.

"Green Bay at home is tough.

"We have to improve our running the football -- that will help in our scoring. We have to become more stubborn.

"We just have to get better."

(on the Dolphins use of the fake field goal and fake punt) "Against Green Bay, when they have the momentum, they are tough. That's when you try things you don't normally do, but then you have to execute.

(on the play of Packers QB Brett Favre) "Favre is the most valuable player for the past two years -- you can see why he improvises time after time.

"The Packers are a great football team; they're good in all areas."

(on whether the playing surface caused any problems) "The footing was slippery. We slipped in the preseason -- it was not as good footing as you would like."

(on playing on Packers CB Tyrone Williams) " We were just trying to run our game; we did not play on Williams."

TIGHT END TROY DRAYTON:
"We gave it 100 percent. We came out of this as a better football team. We have the confidence to win.

"We have to execute. We have to make the big plays. We're not getting the job done."

CORNERBACK TERRELL BUCKLEY:
"This was frustrating. We played a pretty good team, but just did not make the plays we needed to.

"We felt good about the game plan.

"Playing against your friends, it gets to be pretty competitive. "The pressure is on the defense when you are down by only three -- that's when somebody has to make the big play."

(on the play of Packers QB Brett Favre) "Favre's mobility allows him to do a lot of things. We did a pretty good job of trying to contain him."

QUARTERBACK DAN MARINO:
"We had some chances to score; we just didn't do it.

"We put some heat on them, especially in the first half."

(on whether there was a plan to establish the running game early) "Running was in our game plan, (but) scoring touchdowns is extremely important.

"Our defense played well. We had the opportunities...just didn't capitalize."

(on whether there was a plan to go after Packers CB Tyrone Willams) "We had no plan to play against Williams."

WIDE RECEIVER FRED BARNETT:
"This is a long season; we have a ways to go. We played a good team -- we hung in there.

"Everyone out there had the desire to take control today. We wanted to win this game. We played hard. We played well."
