Green Bay vs. Dallas - Postgame Quotes - Green Bay

Regular Season - Packers Win 45-17

HEAD COACH MIKE HOLMGREN:
(on the magnitude of this win) "It's just another game. No, like I said during the week, (beating Dallas) was one of those things we hadn't been able to do since I've been here. There's a really good feeling in that locker room -- not just for me, but for everybody. Today was our day."

(on Dorsey Levens breaking the Green Bay single-game rushing record) "Records are wonderful, although I don't think Dorsey had any idea what was going on. I know I didn't. I'm very happy he did get it -- it not only says something about him but about our team."

(on whether this game had assumed the feel of a playoff game) "No question. We felt that all week. Certainly, it had a playoff atmosphere."

(on the performance by the offensive line) "When I look at the film, I think I'll be pleased. No running back has a game like that without the offensive line and the receivers blocking for him."

(on the play of Derrick Mayes) "(Robert) Brooks got a little nicked up early so we switched (the receiver slots) up for the umpteenth time. But Derrick is a very talented guy and Brett has confidence in him. He made some big, big plays today."

(on avoiding a letdown next week at Minnesota, where Holmgren is 0-5) "I'm going to talk to them about that tomorrow. Tonight, however, I will be very emotional. I've exorcised one demon -- next week I'll have another."

(on getting some help today from Chicago and the New York Jets) "It's great. It's going to go right down to the wire, it appears. And any edge you can have coming into the final four games is huge."

QUARTERBACK BRETT FAVRE:
(on whether he ever thought Levens was capable of this kind of performance) "No question he's capable. I told him a couple of times that was some of the toughest running I've ever seen. You saw what I saw. It was remarkable."

(on whether the plan was to run Levens more) "I don't know if our plan was to get him 190 yards. Heck, it made it easy on me. Our offensive line just dominated."

(on what this win means to him) "It feels about like I thought it would. It's great to finally beat these guys; it's a shame it took so long. But we finally did it and, believe me, they're still good."

(on the interception) "I never saw Deion (Sanders). It was intended to be a slant to the right side, but I scanned through and didn't see anything. With his speed, he can make that play. I've played against Deion since college and I've seen him do that to me before."

(on what adjustments were made at halftime) "We really didn't adjust, we just made plays. Our third-down conversion was probably the best we've had. When our offensive line took over, we were able to run the ball continuously and that was the difference."

(on getting up for next week's game) "It shouldn't be too hard. Here we go again, we haven't beaten Minnesota in Minnesota. And Minnesota is just as good as Dallas, if not better. We've got our hands full again."

RUNNING BACK DORSEY LEVENS:
(on breaking the record) "It feels great. I didn't even know what the record was going into the game and I didn't know I broke it until somebody told me."

(on whether the game plan was to run the ball more) "Our game plan was to run the ball and control the clock. The guys up front did a great job and William (Henderson), in my opinion, is the best blocking fullback in the league. I just follow him."

(on getting the bulk of his yards in the secnd half) "If we get the lead, then we're going to run the ball. If it's tied or we're behind, we put the ball in Brett's hands because he's our go-to guy. Once we got that one-touchdown lead, I knew we were going to run the ball."

(on whether he got tired) "I was tired. But as a running back, the more carries you get, the more confident you feel."

DEFENSIVE TACKLE SANTANA DOTSON:
(on finally beating Dallas) "What was it, seven trips to Dallas? It's good to finally get that out of our system. But now we've got another ghost to exorcise."

(on stuffing Emmitt Smith on third-and-10) "I was able to penetrate the gap and Emmitt came right to me. The rest speaks for itself. They were trying to get a first down, but that pretty much ended it -- with an exclamation point."

WIDE RECEIVER DERRICK MAYES:
(on regaining first place) "I think we have some momentum right now. Things happen in this division, so you kind of want to control your own destiny."
