Green Bay vs. Philadelphia - Postgame Quotes - Philadelphia

Regular Season - Packers Win 24-16

HEAD COACH RAY RHODES:

"Their offense kept their drives going.

"We were able to put a couple of drives together. Koy (Detmer) played pretty well for his first opportunity.

"On a lot of third-down situations, we didn't get the job done.

"It was a slow start for us. We tried to get Koy in the best situation possible.

"Some of the runs they got were against three-man fronts. That's when they made the yardage.

"They're (Packers) a good football team. They're a class team.

"The bottom line is, they won the game. Lambeau Field is a tough place to play."

(on Detmer's animations on the sidelines) "You don't do that. You don't give them something to get riled up about.

"This has been a frustrating year. We gave a good effort tonight. Koy did some good things."

(Rhodes would not say whether Detmer would start Thursday against St. Louis at Philadelphia.)

QUARTERBACK KOY DETMER:

"I really didn't come into the game with any expectations on how I would play. The results are disappointing.

The penalties hurt us. If we had overcome those things, we would have had a much better chance.

"I feel pretty good over the way I played. There were some jitters at the start, I was nervous.

"We started out with a very conservative game plan. As the game went along, I felt better."

(On the Eagles' running game) "They gave us a lot of three-man fronts, but the running still was hard-going.

"Any time you get five or six yards on first down, that's a big help with those second- and third-down calls.

"Later in the game we got dinged up with our personnel. That had a lot to do with the play calling.

When we got some rhythym in our game we started to play better, but we knew running would be tough."

(on a possible start against the St. Louis Rams) "I don't know. We'll take it one game at a time.

"In our first series, we were prepared -- we wanted to make it count.

"I'm proud of the way they were hanging in there with me. They kept fighting, they never quit. But, we're not happy with the loss.

"When we put up 16 points, I thought we could do it again.

"I got a chance to start, I got a chance to play -- it was fun. I wanted to give it my best shot -- I gave it my best."

(on the Packers' game plan) "It was the same stuff we saw on film. There were no surprises.

"The loss doesn't help our confidence. Tonight we moved the ball pretty well. We had a few good drives. The penalties seem to bite us every week."

LINEBACKER WILLIAM THOMAS:

"Koy showed some enthusiam. He made some good throws.

"They just moved the ball against us.

"We tried to stop the pass, but then you give up something else."
