HEAD COACH RAY RHODES POSTGAME COMMENTS:
"We had a lot a highs tonight, but also a lot of lows. It was special tonight, especially for me because it was my first time as a head coach here. I was personally nervous during the pregame time, just like some of our players."
(on running back Dorsey Levens) "First of all, Dorsey Levens had some great plays for us. I think the running game was a big improvement and it was good. But there are always things that can be improved, so we'll look at the tapes and see."
(on quarterback Matt Hasselbeck) "I thought Matt Hasselbeck played with a lot of poise. He made good decisions as far as throwing the football tonight. I really think he executed well and made a statement tonight."
(on the secondary) "There were a lot of big pass plays against us tonight, which should not happen. We'll definitely work on that and improve it."
(on quarterback Brett Favre) "Brett Favre did a great job tonight and I thought Dorsey Levens had some big runs. Our first offensive unit did a good job, but our defense early on did not stop the Jets. We have to stop the third down plays."
(on quarterback Rick Mirer) "I also thought that Rick Mirer had some good movement for us, while the second defense, in the second quarter, played decent."
(overall) "Overall, I think it was a good outing. We had a young offensive line that I think did well, but our biggest improvement will have to be our defense."
CORNERBACK ANTUAN EDWARDS:
(on his first game in the NFL) "On my first play, my guy ran me over. He said, 'Welcome to the NFL.' After that, it was a lot of fun. I had a good time and made some plays out there. It felt real good."
WIDE RECEIVER DERRICK MAYES:
(on his touchdown catch) "That's why Brett is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He has a sixth sense when he is scrambling of where the receivers are going to be, and we connected tonight."
(on his Lambeau Leap) "That was just something that I thought of. I didn't want to get any beer on me in the preseason. I'll leap later."
QUARTERBACK MATT HASSELBECK:
(on his touchdown pass to Jahine Arnold) "That was just the system working, and I just did my job. I was real excited to see him open, and he did the rest."
(on his touchdown pass to Jeff Thomason) "Jeff is a real big target. It was a good pass, and a real nice catch. He made a great play."
(on his overall performance) "It's never as good or as bad as you think. I'll have to watch the tape and learn from it for next week."
TIGHT END JEFF THOMASON:
(on his touchdown catch) "I wasn't going to let another one drop after that first one. Matt made a nice pass, and I went and got it."
RUNNING BACK EDWIN WATSON:
(on the offense's overall peformance) "I think we all stepped up. The line opened up some big holes, Matt (Snider) took care of a couple guys. We all took a big step together tonight. The running was easy."
WIDE RECEIVER JAHINE ARNOLD:
(on his touchdown catch) "I just came across, Matt found me, and all I saw was open field. When I got to the end zone, I was too tired, I didn't know what to do. It was real exciting."
