HEAD COACH BILL PARCELLS:
"We could have done better. I am a little disappointed, especially with a majority of our young players.
"The penalties in the second half hurt and our play got sloppy.
"Our inexperience showed, especially with our linemen, quarterback and receivers.
"Our first-line offense moved the ball pretty well, but they (Packers) have more depth."
(on quarterback Ray Lucas) "We will have to take a look at it (his play). It was a little less than perfect. But, remember, this was his first outing. He made some good moves, but all of it wasn't right.
"This was a night for moving easy -- both (teams) moved the ball.
"This was a good place to play. The Packers are contenders in the NFL.
"We have a lot of work to do; we have to improve.
"On the one short yardage play, we settled for a field goal. I can't condemn the short-yardage offense.
"There was lots of inexperience out there in the second half. It didn't go well, but that's not an excuse. We were looking at a lot of players.
"We win or lose as a team. The game went about the same way for both sides."
WIDE RECEIVER KEYSHAWN JOHNSON:
"The turf was real good. I had heard they had some problems with it, but the problems were taken care of pretty fast.
"I was pleased with the game when I was in there, but after that it wasn't much fun. You have to take the good with the bad."
QUARTERBACK VINNY TESTEVERDE:
(on the TD pass to Eric Green) "That was a heck of a catch. Any team can use a player like Eric. We've done it before and we'll have to hook up again. He ran a good route, and when I saw the strong safety come up I laid it up for the catch.
"It's good to have key targets that make the big plays. That sparks the offense.
"My concern going into the game was to please Coach Parcells. We had to show how we were going to play. We did some things that were good, but we still have to improve.
"We have more experienced players this year."
