Green Bay vs. Oakland - Postgame Quotes - Oakland

Regular Season - Packers Win 28-24

HEAD COACH JON GRUDEN:
"There are lots of hurts."

on Green Bay's three rookie defensive backs: "We have plenty of youth on the field; we don't discriminate against rookies or veterans. If they weren't good, they wouldn't be out there. Credit (Brett) Favre and (Antonio) Freeman, but I'm not surprised. Brett goes for Freeman.

"On the pass to James Jett in the end zone, (Mike) McKenzie made a great play.

"We missed a couple of field goals -- that hurt.

"In the final (Packers) drive, we were soft. Levens made a catch and a great run -- that was a great play.

"Favre holds the ball and makes the great plays.

"We have a good team. It keeps fighting -- we will come back.

"I tip my hat to the Packers.

"I liked (Rich) Gannon's play. He made some good plays against some tough defense.

"At the end of the first half, we wanted to score. We were playing for a field goal.

"We have no excuses' we're going to keep going.

"Tyrone (Wheatley) did a good job. He ran hard inside.

"The Packers have good players in the secondary; they let (Craig) Newsome go for a reason. They've got good players. They made enough plays to win.

"The Packers play good in the middle of the field. They have the receivers who can make the plays.

"I'm disappointed in the outcome of the game. I'm real pleased with the offense -- they got a couple of good scores.

"In the Packers' last drive, Favre made some big plays, also Freeman. Favre is great at his scrambling. Give them credit."

CORNERBACK CHARLES WOODSON
"We just have to bounce back. On the last drive, we gave up some big yards. They killed us."

SAFETY ERIC TURNER
"We can bounce back from this loss. We will correct our mistakes. Their offense is so diverse, it makes it difficult to defend."

DEFENSIVE TACKLE RUSSELL MARYLAND
"Everybody played hard. (On) the last possession, we just should have gotten off the field sooner. We're not going to be down from this game."

(on Brett Favre): "He knows how to do things on the run. He makes things happen on the run. He's the best quarterback on the field -- he showed that today. We tried to get after him. He plays in pain."

KICKER MICHAEL HUSTED
"The field wasn't the best, but we're not making excuses. We have to go back and get ready for the rest of the season."

RUNNING BACK NAPOLEON KAUFMAN
"They (the Packers) did a good job. They moved the ball, they played hard.

CORNERBACK ERIC ALLEN
"On the final drive, 25 (Levens) made a great run, he got a good block and made a long gain. That set the tone. Give Brett (Favre) all the credit in the world -- their team came through in the last two minutes. We didn't do what we had to do in the final two minutes."

QUARTERBACK RICH GANNON
"We played hard. It's up to us to put this one aways. We took some shots -- it's a big chess game out there.

"We had a good game plan; we needed to execute better.

"In our last drive, we were going for the first downs.

"Their rookies played well -- they did a good job.

"We blew some opportunities.

"(Brett) Favre takes a lot of chances, but he make the big play. He's got the arm."
