Green Bay vs. Chicago - Postgame Quotes - Green Bay
Regular Season - Packers Lose 14-13
HEAD COACH RAY RHODES
overall impressions of the game: "Up front they did a good job on the line and stopping our run. Against our passing game, we dropped some passes, but again, they came in and prevented us from running the football. Their offense did a good job of moving the ball against us. I think the big play by (Glyn) Milburn was a big run by him and they were also able to push the pile a couple times. We had them stopped, but they were able to push for those extra yards."
on final field goal: "I heard that the snap was a little low, there is no excuse for that. We played against a team that tried to get after us. Guys dropped some balls too. We got into a position to win the game, but we weren't able to get it done."
QUARTERBACK BRETT FAVRE
on overall impressions: "I'm still sort of numb right now. We haven't lost two around here in a long time. We'd like to score more points. I was thinking about coming down here, and saying, 'It was another great come from behind win.' It just wasn't our day, I guess."
on the offense's performance: "I don't know. I just talked to Ron Wolf, and he asked me if I could pinpoint what was wrong. I can't. We have really great talent on the offense. We have a lot of great talent on this team. We made a lot of big plays, but not enough of the biggest plays, and those are touchdowns."
on his breaking the NFL record for consecutive starts by a QB: "I thought it was going to be the last day of the streak when I went into the Wisconsin Badger band (when Bears' Bryan Robinson was called for roughing the passer). Winning is the most important thing in this game. I can't lie about that. I enjoy playing it."
WIDE RECEIVER ANTONIO FREEMAN
on his performance: "Erratic. It just goes to show that every play counts. We can't keep waiting for the fourth quarter to win games."
KICKER RYAN LONGWELL
on final field goal attempt: "Well, as I've said for years, it takes eleven guys to kick a field goal. There is nothing routine about a field goal. I don't know where the block came from. Our timing seemed to be pretty good, I hit the ball pretty good, but I need a lane to kick it through and obviously somebody made a great play."
TIGHT END TYRONE DAVIS
on his touchdown: "We were in a two-tight end formation, we shifted, I was open. I was lined up on the wide side by myself. I was isolated on the DB, I ran a pattern where I faked the fade, and Brett (Favre) throws it behind me."
