Green Bay vs. Arizona - Postgame Quotes - Green Bay
Regular Season - Packers Win 49-24
HEAD COACH RAY RHODES
overall impressions of the game: "We worked hard all week long in practice. Everybody feels bad about the
way things have gone this season. We came out and exploded, put some points
on the board. Everybody had a chance to contribute -- our special teams,
our receivers, our running backs -- everybody gave us some big plays."
on his awareness of the Carolina Panthers game:
"You're trying to keep track of what is going on. We had an assistant on
the sideline (Matt Klein) that was keeping us updated on where Carolina was
located on the field. All of a sudden they go from 31 to 45 (points) and
you get a little nervous. But you have to try to outscore this football
team."
on Dorsey Levens going over 1,000 yards rushing:
"Dorsey had a great day running the football. That was something that we
expected that we would be able to do today. Dorsey ran the football
extremely well today -- he was able to get some tough yardage."
on Bill Schroeder going over 1,000 yards receiving:
"I was very happy to see Billy go over 1,000 yards. This is his first year
as a starter, and for him to have the opportunity to go over 1,000 yards is
a big plus."
on Basil Mitchell's kickoff return for a touchdown:
"That was another high point for our football team. In the past this team
has had three or four kickoff returns for touchdowns. This season has been
a little slow for us, but Basil was able to come up with a huge return for
us."
QUARTERBACK BRETT FAVRE
on the team's awareness of the Carolina game:
"I don't think anyone was real aware of it until the second half. It was
strange events today. It was fun. We'd love to be in a different
situation, where we had closed it out a few weeks ago, but we're not. We
still need to get some help, but it was a lot of fun today."
on the performance of the offense:
"That was as balanced as I've seen our offense in maybe two years. We're
capable of doing that and I think everyone knows it. It was one of those
situations where everyone on the Packers went into this game saying we had
nothing to lose and that is when you play your best."
RUNNING BACK DORSEY LEVENS
on keeping up with Carolina Panthers:
"I didn't really understand it. Somebody from the public relations staff
let me know. I knew we had to put some points on the board -- I didn't know
exactly how many."
on going over 1,000 yards rushing:
"It feels really good. The thanks goes out to the offensive line, and to
William Henderson. Today's game shows what we could have done all season."
CORNERBACK MIKE McKENZIE
on his interceptions:
"The first one was a situation where it was a tipped ball and I just
happened to be in the right place at the right time. The second one, we
were playing in man coverage, I got a chance to get a good jam on him, I got
my head around and I made a play on the ball."
WIDE RECEIVER BILL SCHROEDER
on eclipsing the 1000-yards receiving plateau:
"It feels great. It was something that I was working on all season long. I
really thank (quarterback) Brett (Favre) and the line for giving me the
opportunity to do this. Obviously I thank God for giving me the
opportunity. Hopefully we can make it into the playoffs to make it worth
something."
on his two touchdown catches:
"The first one, Brett made an audible at the line, made a great call, made a
great pass, I was wide open. The second one, we called that play in the
huddle. Brett told me to be aware if the safety leaves, I'm going to throw
it to you. And he did -- it was a great pass."
RUNNING BACK BASIL MITCHELL
on his kickoff return touchdown:
"What happened was, they kicked it to the left, the whole team committed to
the left, they thought we were going to run a wedge. I just broke it to the
right, I had Tyrone Davis with me, I had one man to beat and the kicker. It
was just open field ahead of me -- I was just hoping I'd make it to the end
zone."
