Kohls Countdown To Kickoff
Gameday / 2000 / November 6 / Minnesota
Green Bay vs. Minnesota - Post-game Quotes - Minnesota

Regular Season - Packers Win 26-20

HEAD COACH DENNIS GREEN:

"This was a very unusual game. In an unusual game you get some unusual plays. The last play was an example."

(on the aborted field goal try at the end of the game) "He (Mitch Berger) just couldn't put it down, so he picked it up and ran.

"The rain affected the whole game -- it changed the field conditions. That's why we kicked right away (on first down).

"We were hit with penalties -- they hurt us early.

"We thought we would score the last time we had the ball. If you get the chance to win the game, you just better take it, especially in conditions like this."

(on Allen Rossum's 90-yard kickoff return) "We have had excellent kickoff coverage; we missed on that one."

(on the two straight losses) "We'll get over it. We intend to turn this around."

PUNTER/HOLDER MITCH BERGER:

(on the aborted field goal try in final minute of regulation) "The ball didn't come right. I might have spiked it -- I just didn't think of that. The ball was soaking wet. We asked for a dry ball, but didn't get one.

"The ball slipped right through my hands."

QUARTERBACK DAUNTE CULPEPPER:

"We just have to win to get back on track.

"I made three bad decisions, and wish I could get them back.

"We won seven in a row -- we won't get down on ourselves.

"We lost the game. We all could have played better.

"This is a good team; we can deal with this (loss)."

(on the Packers' defense) "Our main goal was to keep them honest.

"We let the game slip out of our hands. We have no excuses.

"I made three bad decisions -- I tried to force the ball for the big play.

"You can't make everything happen at one time.

"We have a lot of mature guys -- we will be able to handle this just fine."

WIDE RECEIVER CRIS CARTER:

"They played a double zone all night (explaining why the Vikings ran the ball more than they passed)."

"We turned the ball over too many times. The turnovers made the dfifference.

"The number of penalties was ridiculous -- they were too lopsided. We didn't get a good call all night."

(on the team's record) "We'll be all right. We're 7-and-2 -- we're in good shape.

"We were running the ball -- we were moving it. We figured we could dominate up front."
