HEAD COACH MIKE SHERMAN:
(on how the team played) "Yeah, I'm very concerned about the way we played tonight. We didn't play very well - it was pretty obvious that we didn't. I thought we did some decent things on defense. I saw some improvement there, but certainly offensively we have been pretty constant offensively throughout the preseason and I felt today certainly lacked that. Anytime you turn the ball over four times you are going to look ugly. I don't care what you do on any other side of the ball, you are not going to look very good when you turn the ball over four times."
(on what he attributes the penalties to) "Well, I attribute them to me. It is my team. We have not been a team in my past that has had a lot of penalties. It spiked up a little last year, but put that on me. Sometimes in the preseason you can blame it on the younger guys and them not knowing what they are doing, but it is not just the younger guys."
(on if there is enough time to correct mistakes) "Well we have been here before. This is the preseason and we will fix what needs to get fixed. Hopefully this game will be a distant memory four weeks from now."
(on the run defense) "Well you always want to be better in the run defense. They hit us on a couple runs, I'll give them that, but I think our guys did some good things in our run defense. I thought as I watched, guys got off of blocks and made some tackles. I thought we were physical at times. Were we perfect, no. I am not saying we were perfect, we were far from that, but I saw some good things from our defense at different times. Certainly it was not enough. The bottom line is that when you turn that ball over as many times as we did and you give them field position on kickoff returns you are going to have a tough day. I don't care what defense you put out there."
(on the special teams coverage) "I was very concerned about the special teams coverage. Two weeks in a row we gave up a kickoff return. I am very concerned. Particularly when we came out of the San Diego game we felt very confident. Overly confident I guess, as you may look at it right now."
DEFENSIVE END AARON KAMPMAN:
(on the game tonight) "Well I don't think we played our best ballgame. That is stating the obvious. We let them run the ball, which is something that we have tried to focus on this preseason. Offensively we turned the ball over, special teams we gave up some big plays. So all around, all three phases we have things that we can correct and work on and I think we will. I think we will look at the tape objectively and honestly and fix what needs to be fixed."
(on the Patriots offense) "They are efficient; they are a smart team. I talked with a friend of mine that just signed there and he said you can see why they win and why they do different things. It is a good organization. I believe we are a good organization as well and who knows maybe we will get a chance to play them again."
GUARD ADRIAN KLEMM:
(on if the line is in disarray) "I wouldn't say the line is in disarray. We have lots of movement going around, lots of guys trying to earn positions, but I don't think we were hitting on all cylinders tonight and that isn't just the line, there are other groups as well. There is just a lot that we need to work on, but I don't think that it is just one group or one individual. We just need to continue working together to get better and try to come together as a cohesive unit."
(on if he is nervous about the regular season) "I can't say they we are really nervous about it because the offense does take time and we have been one of the best offenses in the past and I think we are going to be markedly better than what you saw out there tonight. It can't get any worse."
(on the Patriots 3-4 scheme) "They play a 3-4 really good and they 2-gap really well and they pressure. Their pressure seems to come always on time. They just did a good job tonight - they are a good ball club. It's not like we are going out there playing a bunch of slappies or stiffs. We'd like to do better and I think we are more competitive than what we showed out there tonight."
RUNNING BACK TONY FISHER:
(on what happened tonight) "I think our defense stepped up. We put them in a bad situation and they stepped up. We had some good things and bad things going on out there. Luckily for us, it is a preseason game and we still have time to correct all the mistakes."
(on how he played tonight) "I think I did my job, but I wish I had been able to do more to help put us in a position to win. When you are given opportunities, you have to take advantage of them."
(on the Patriots) "They have a solid defense. They are the defending Super Bowl champions. They are good in all aspects of the game, that's why they won the Super Bowl. Today was a good test for us and we didn't respond the way we should have."
QUARTERBACK AARON RODGERS:
(on how he felt tonight) "I felt pretty comfortable out there and I felt like I made some pretty good reads. Obviously I'd love to have that ball that I threw to (Sean) McHugh back, but you can't make mistakes like that. Experience will allow me to throw that ball away. In that situation, I am trying to make a play and sometimes you have to be willing to throw the ball away instead of putting the ball in a spot where something bad can happen like that and I take full responsibility for that, although Sean and I weren't on the same page. Other than that, I felt like I made good reads and moved the ball pretty well, we just had some turnovers and penalties that put us in tough situations and we didn't execute on third down. This team in this west coast offense that we run relies so heavily on the run game getting us going and we really haven't been able to run the ball that well. Once the season rolls around, getting Ahman (Green) going is going to be imperative to this offense moving the ball."
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS HEAD COACH BILL BELICHICK:
(on tonight's overall performance) "I thought we were more competitive tonight than in our previous two games. It was big for us to get good field position right away and punch it in to get on top. We got to see a lot of guys play tonight, it was good to see what we had."
(on continued good field position) "Anytime you get good field position, you don't have as far to go and we were able to take advantage of that. Turnovers and good kick returns gave us a short field to work with."
(on the Lambeau mystique) "There are a lot of great names up there. If you like football, you have to like Lambeau. I was happy that we did not see the Lambeau Leap."
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SAFETY RODNEY HARRISON:
(on the game) "Overall, I think we played pretty good. We were able to get a couple of turnovers, we have a lot of respect for Brett Favre, all the things he can accomplish and Driver as well as Javon Walker - they got a great group of receivers, so I think overall we played pretty well."
(on the play of Asante Samuel and Randall Gay) "They are young guys, they're getting better, they're learning and they're making some plays and that's always good. This is just one step to the next one. We got to get ready for next week - decent plays and we just got to keep it going."
(on Chatman's injury) I think he came up. I gave him a shot with my shoulder. When I went on and I turned around and I saw him down and I just started praying for him because you never want to see anybody down like that, so I hope he's alright. "
(holding the Packers to three points) "We did some good things, we were able to get our hands on the ball, the defensive line put some good pressure on them. Brett, he made a couple of mistakes, but we have a lot of respect for Brett Favre. We have a lot of room for improvement."
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TIGHT END BENJAMIN WATSON:
(on the game) "Basically I take another game to build confidence. Being out for a year is tough to come back, but the more time I got, the more confident I can get. There's definitely a lot of things in the game that I need to work on so I can be ready for the season."
(on the injuries in tonight's game) "I really don't know the extent of the injures, but (having been) injured myself my heart goes out to the guys injured tonight."

PACKERS-PATRIOTS HALFTIME QUOTES
HEAD COACH MIKE SHERMAN:
(on first-half penalties and special teams) "Well, that and mostly the ineffectiveness of our offense. We haven't executed our offense in the way we should, the way we have and that's part of it as well. We seem to be in tough situations more times than we should be, but certainly the special teams didn't help us again and penalties have been a nemesis of ours and continue to be and they have to stop."
QUARTERBACK BRETT FAVRE:
(on the play of the offense) "New England is a good team, definitely. They've got good players and a good scheme. We made our share of mistakes, though. That's something we can't afford to do.
"We did make some plays and had a nice drive in the first quarter, but you can't get into a third-and-35 situation. You're not going to convert too many of those. Penalties killed us there.
"Throwing the ball to the other team isn't going to get it done either."
"We just need to make plays. Our chances were there to make those plays. We just need to capitalize on a consistent basis. We'll get there. I have confidence in our offense. We'll be fine."
(on the New England pass rush) "They did get a couple of good shots in. They got free on a couple of plays, but I don't think it's anything we need to worry about. We'll take a look at the film and make sure we're OK."
DEFENSIVE END KABEER GBAJA-BIAMILA:
(on Packers defensive performance) "Right now we're not executing. I'm not sure if it's because (New England) is used to playing against a similar defense with Miami being in their conference. We're not executing and they are."
(on New England's offense) "They've got a pretty good offense. I see why they're the Super Bowl champs. We have to know our stuff, communicate and execute better to stop a team like this."
(on the progression of Green Bay's pass rush throughout the preseason) "I think it's gotten better, personally. I don't think we're showing it right now, but I think it has gotten better."

**
After the Packers pulled to within four points of New England on Ryan Longwell's 26-yard field goal, the Patriots extended their lead late in the 2nd quarter as Tom Brady connected with David Givens for a 12-yard touchdown.
**

**
