HEAD COACH MIKE SHERMAN
(General Statement)
"It was pretty bad. It's bad enough being 51 years old, and you put this on top of it, and it's pretty bad. It's tough to watch. We didn't execute any phase of our game. Offense, defense, special teams, whatever the case may be, we didn't do anything well tonight."
(On taking QB Brett Favre out of the game)
"I made the decision to take him out of the game when I did, because I thought that was the time to take him out. The game was getting out of hand, and it was an opportunity to look at the young quarterback (Aaron Rodgers). With the possessions that we had, it would take an extraordinary effort to get back into the game. I felt it gave us a chance to look at (Rodgers)."
(On what he told the team after the game)
"This is our fourteenth game, and for thirteen weeks we've had tremendous resolve. Win or lose, I thought we played hard, but tonight was the exception to that."
(On having patience with Brett Favre)
"We'll look at the tape and see which ones were not good decisions. One time there was a protection issue, and the last interception he threw, we'll take a look at it."
(On RB Samkon Gado)
"He sprained his MCL, and we'll take a look at it tomorrow when they scan it. I thought he was playing hard, and made some cuts. (I) thought that if he stayed healthy, he'd have a pretty good day. Obviously, it's a good defense to run against, but I thought he was making some good reads and playing hard."
(On preparation for and outcome of the game)
"The guys worked hard this week, and were prepared. I felt good about the pre-game, the meetings, and the walk-thru today. Everything went as planned. I had no idea we would play this poorly."
AARON RODGERS
(On what he was told when he went into the game)
"Don't turn the ball over."
(On what else he was told)
"That's kind of an assumed thing, when you're down by that much. You kind of want to get the game over with and get home. We had an opportunity to put points on the board with the throw to Driver, but it got off a little too quick. We had a couple of good drives and a couple of mistakes."
(On whether he felt comfortable out there)
"I felt pretty good out there. There's not much pressure when you're down by that much. Coming in, I just wanted to make some good decisions. But we turned the ball over."
AL HARRIS
(On Kyle Boller's great day against the Packers secondary)
"Kyle Boller played a great game. He's a professional athlete. He's not a college player, he's a professional quarterback who played a great game."
(On whether covering Todd Heap was a big concern)
"It was a big concern. We had some game plans for him. We'd seen on tape that you pretty much have to have two guys on him. For a tight end, that says a lot. He's a great player."
(On worry about being blown out on national TV)
"It's a big concern. You never want to put up a performance like we did. The ball hasn't been bouncing our way this season, but we always play hard. Not to say that we didn't play hard, but they beat us."
(On Brett Favre coming out of the game)
"I've never seen that. Whatever the reason was, I'm sure it was a good reason. I don't question it. As long as he's healthy, it's all right."
DONALD DRIVER
(On what it feels like to struggle like this)
"We just fell in a hole. Not just Brett, but all around, we struggled. We just didn't make the plays we had to make. It was a shame that we played on Monday Night Football like this. Usually, we have a show, but the Baltimore Ravens had a show and we were just there."
(On why Brett struggled on Monday Night Football)
"I don't know. I don't know, you'll have to ask him that one. I just think as a group, as a team, we played awful tonight. We went out there and made a lot of mistakes and the more you make mistakes, you lose games, and that's what happened tonight."
(On missing first-half opportunities)
"Well, we got to make plays. Regardless of whether you have double coverage or single coverage, you got to make plays. All around, we tried to make plays, but it just didn't happen tonight."
SAMKON GADO
(On the injury)
"It's a torn MCL. I don't know how bad it can get. If it's torn I don't think it can get any worse. I just got hit. Someone went low when my knee was planted and caused it to buckle a little bit. I felt a little something weird, nothing I didn't think I would be fine with, with a one or two play break, but to my dismay, when I went to the sideline they told me it was a torn MCL."
"It's frustrating, and even more for the team because it seems like we just can't keep a healthy running back. For me, it sticks in my crawl but there's nothing I can do to control that. I think all there is left to do is to hit the rehabilitation as hard as I have been hitting everything else, and just get ready for next year."
MARK ROMAN
(On the game)
"It's very embarrassing. Any time you come out and lose a game on Monday night the way we just lost the game, is heartbreaking. There is no way to explain it. The only thing you can feel is hurt."
(On Todd Heap)
"We play bad in our match ups against him. He's a good player. He's the guy that you have to respect and have to account for in the offense. And he was definitely able to get open and make a couple plays against us."
(On the game) "We just played bad. You could make up a bunch of excuses and give lip service all you want, but the bottom line is we played bad, and the score reflected it."
NICK COLLINS
(On the game)
"It hurts. We just didn't play our game. We just have to go to work on Wednesday, and get better, and prepare for Chicago next week."
(On Jamal Lewis)
"He's a powerful runner. And he made plays and we didn't. Credit goes to him. He just wanted it more than we did, and we just have to play better on the run."
NICK BARNETT
(On the game)
"We're very disappointed in this loss. We could have played a lot better, but it doesn't change. When you lose a game, you have to prepare for next week. We have Chicago coming up, and we have to face them and put our focus towards them. The mistakes we had this game, whatever it was, we'll watch film and see, and just go out and play next week. We've got nothing to lose but to go out there and win."
(On the Ravens' pass game)
"Heap made some good plays out there. He was running some good routes, and that's what happens. We didn't make the plays that we needed to, to stop them.
Boller made some plays, but we gave up some plays as well defensively. I like to think that if we play a lot better than we did I don't think he makes a lot of those plays. But I'm not taking anything away from him."
Baltimore Ravens
BRIAN BILLICK
(Opening Statement)
"It's finally nice to have a game where everything goes your way. It was one of those nights where everything was going to work for us. We had huge energy and we'll see if we can follow up with it next week."
(On the difference in Kyle Boller's play)
"It was just another outing, he got into his rhythm and he saw things very well. That was a good defense, (they) are one of the top rated defenses in the league. We just had the execution we needed to look like that."
(On what this game does for Kyle Boller's confidence and the team's confidence)
"This is always good to look like that. To do some things and to recognize that is what your potential is. And he lived up to that against a very good defense. So, there is never a downside to producing like that."
(On playing well on national television)
"That was important for them. They had their chance to redeem themselves a little bit and to show people what they are about and to show that is for real."
(On Brett Favre)
"He has been at this for a long time and has had some great games. He knows what that's about. He'll move on from this."
(On the defense getting interceptions)
"Yeah, and we could have had a whole lot more. We have to get out a ball machine or something, they had a special night for us. We need to get more of (interceptions) and hopefully we'll start things down that way."
KYLE BOLLER
(On the difference tonight)
"I made better decisions. Overall, in the Denver game, I really made some bad decisions. I felt, this game, I was going to go out here and just play really relaxed and smooth. I know it's Monday Night Football, and that's one of the things that Coach Fassel talked about. Just go out there, have fun and play smooth and don't try and do too much like I did in the Denver game. Just go out there and let the game come to you."
(On changing how he plays)
"It's hard, but at the same time, it's gotten me in trouble in the past. Instead of forcing and trying to make plays, today all I had to do was get the ball in my guys' hands and let them make plays. That's what makes them special. My offensive line, I was able to sit back there and make my reads and get the ball out. That makes it a lot easier."
(On out-playing Brett Favre)
"It feels good, just to be on the field with him, I grew up watching him. It was great. To be able to put on a performance that we did as an offense, it means a lot, especially with what I've kind of been going through. It was a good win ."
(On throwing to Todd Heap)
"We had a couple of mismatches when they put him on a safety, and you've got to take advantage of that. So I was able to get that mismatch and give him a chance at making some plays and he did that, basically every time."
(On the emotion of this game)
"I'm going to keep working. I'm going to keep trying to get better. It was a really good win. I feel my teammates, my guys, they allowed me to do that. My offensive line blocked the best that they could. Jamal and Chester ran the ball. My receivers made plays for me. That's what makes it a complete package, and that's why it was easy for me, because of the guys around me. They made it easy for me."
(On the good start to the game)
"We had to find some way to get it in. The penalty, and then I was able to rush and Todd made a great catch. To be able to come to the sideline and have that seven points on the board, you've got to just take that and build off it, and we did. I thought we moved the ball really well, and the rest, I guess, is history."
(On having to prove himself to his teammates)
"My teammates have been behind me. There might be speculation of people saying this, saying that, but my teammates have been behind me through everything, and I can't tell you how much they have been. That's what really has kept me going a lot is guys pushing me and keeping my confidence up. That hasn't been an issue a lot.
TODD HEAP
(On the win)
"We got on a roll, kind of, and Kyle was throwing the ball well, guys were making plays. It seemed like everybody was able to get involved. Jamal, Chester running the ball, all of the receivers catching the ball, making plays. I can't remember the last time we scored 48 points in a ball game."
(On how it felt to get the offense rolling)
"It felt great. I was just having fun playing. It was the most fun I've had all season playing a game. We talked about before the game, Kyle and I said, 'Hey, let's just go out and have fun tonight. It's on Monday Night Football.' Our record being what it is, we had not a whole lot of pressure on us. We just said, 'Hey, let's go have fun, play ball and see what we could do.'"
(On Boller's attitude on the field)
"Any time he has a smile on his face in the huddle and we're actually moving that ball, of course, it's a different demeanor. When plays are successful, and when he's making throws the way he was and all of us guys were catching the ball and making plays for him, of course he's going to have a totally different attitude, a totally different mind-set towards every play. He was confident. I think everybody's demeanor was different."
(On the offense's play)
"As a whole offense, we saw what we're capable of, what we can do. Now we just need to go and build off of that, keep making plays, keep moving the ball down the field, keep getting points when we get down close to the end zone -- all those things that we did tonight -- stuff we can look at. We've got to take the attitude that we can't accept anything less."
(On what the win does)
"It was fun. I don't know what it does for me. I just went out and had fun and played football. The win was the biggest part for me. To win in the fashion that we did, on Monday Night Football, that was a lot of fun."
(On the offense's balance)
"I think that's what our offense is capable of, getting everybody involved. We had a bunch of guys going for yardage so when everybody's involved and Kyle's able to pick and choose where we're going to go with the ball, I think that's what's going to make us balanced and make us successful in the future."
RB JAMAL LEWIS
(On the game)
"I thought we came out, set a good tempo, and ran the ball well, threw the ball well, and had a balanced offense. I think that's what really played a role in the score out there, and in everything that we did."
(On QB Kyle Boller) "He was in a rhythm, he was comfortable, and our receivers out there were getting open. We were giving him time blocking, with good protection, and giving him that time. That's what it takes...getting time to sit back in the pocket and find his man."
(On his performance)
"No, it wasn't my best game of the season, but I did do some good things. I think that played a part in playing from ahead, and going out there having Kyle throw the ball well. They couldn't really stack the box, and things like that, and the line kept blocking well."
(On the surprising score)
"This was big. That's what coach (Billick) instilled in us, (that the season) is not over. We just wanted to go out there and have fun. That's what we did -- I don't think any of us wanted to let up, because we love this game, and we come out to have fun."
