PACKERS-TITANS POST-GAME QUOTES
HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY
(on the third of three goals he had coming into the game) "The last one was to give the rest of the young guys a chance to compete and get as much information on film so we can finalize the roster."
(on whether the offensive line is ready for the opener) "That's why we made the decision (setting the lineup) as early as we did because they need to play, and we just need to continue to work."
(on play of offensive line) "The continuity up front is essential. That's where everything starts, both in the run game and the pass protection."
(on special teams play) "I think any player that put the ball on the ground today, that does not help them."
(on Packers penalties) "When you're doing things that are not very smart, that's just counterproductive."
(on the punt team) "That's another group that needs some work. You have a strong-legged punter, but we just need more work. We haven't really punted the ball a whole lot in the preseason. I feel good about the punter, and the coverage team will get coordinated."
(on the personal foul calls against the Packers, particularly the taunting call) "You want your players to be aggressive, and you want them to have that fire, but if you're going to push the envelope you can't cross the line."
(on QB Ingle Martin) "I thought Ingle Martin, for as much as he struggled, came back strong and played well in the two-minute drill."
(on RB Noah Herron) "He put his foot down and ran, and that's what we're looking for in our scheme."
(on whether the team will pick up a veteran offensive lineman) "I can't control what's coming across that wire. We'll know more by tomorrow night."
S TYRONE CULVER
(On forcing the fumble inside the red zone) "The play was coming downhill and that's a play I have to make. The guy was carrying the ball a little loose, I was able to get a hand on it and rip it out. It was a good time for that because they had the ball deep in our territory. That's what we have to do as a defense, go out there and force turnovers."
QB AARON RODGERS
(On the overall experience of the preseason) "We wanted to finish it off a lot better today, unfortunately we couldn't. Overall it was a good experience, I got a lot better. The offseason work definitely paid off. It's like I said, we wanted to end this on a good note, a better note, because going into the season obviously Brett's going to be the guy as long as he can go and that usually means 16 games for him. But it was a good experience."
WR GREG JENNINGS
(On the first play from scrimmage, an 89-yard reception) "They were in a cover three. It looked like Pacman (Jones) was supposed to drop deep, but he didn't, they all sat and converged on Driver running a snag route. When I saw that, I knew I was going to come open, it was just a matter of getting the ball and making something happen."
(On how a play like that grabs momentum) "It sets the tone. Some of the other guys were definitely excited about it because they only had one more play and they were off for the rest of the game. When you get things like that to happen for you it definitely helps you out when you're playing the rest of the game downhill."
LB BRADY POPPINGA
(On how it felt to see live game action after sitting out most of the preseason) "It felt great. It felt as if I never left. That to me is the nicest thing about this whole thing, that even though the injury happened, it feels like it never really did happen. To be out there and be able to move like I can move without any type of residuals or any type of pain or soreness or anything is a blessing in my eyes."
TITANS HEAD COACH JEFF FISHER
(on his decision to start Vince Young) "I had been planning on starting Vince for quite some time in this ball game to give him a chance to play with the starters. I thought he did a nice job with both series. He made plays, he showed what he is capable of doing, so he is moving forward and making progress and that learning curve is moving right along. I'm pleased with that."
(on releasing players this weekend) "It is not going to be easy. Believe me, it is not going to be easy. That is the downside of playing Friday. We have a lot work to do tonight and early tomorrow morning."
(on the importance of winning the last preseason game) "You set out to win and that is first and foremost. Then you set out to improve some things that have happened over the last couple of weeks that we did bad. It is a good feeling right now to get the win and to make plays. Everyone contributed, the return game contributed, but we are not ready for the regular season. We have a lot of work to do."
QB VINCE YOUNG
(on starting the game) "Just coming in the game and starting was a great feeling. The first drive was pretty good and the second one was OK. It is always good to get a first-quarter touchdown."
(on his progression as a quarterback this preseason) "I didn't think I would be as far as I am. The coaches have done a good job of getting me prepared each week in going against the first-team defense and teammates have been helping me out."
LB KEITH BULLUCK
(on his assessment of the Titans first-unit defense this preseason) "In every preseason game except the Denver one, which got out of control, the big plays have really hurt us. So when we come back and eliminate the big plays we will be alright this year. Once we hone down and everyone takes care of what they need to, we seem to settle down."

QB Aaron Rodgers replaced Brett Favre following the first series. Favre completed 1-of-1 pass attempts for 89 yards.
***
Packers Injury Updates:
(1st quarter) DT Kenny Peterson left the game with an ankle injury. His return is questionable.

PACKERS HALFTIME QUOTES
Brett Favre:
"We had two very positive plays and of course we scored. Greg (Jennings) made a great play. I think the corner got tangled up and Greg was wide open. But we have a lot of work to do. We have to protect better. We have to run the football better. You can’t win if you can’t run the ball. We had two plays and went, what, about 90 yards? I’m not expecting it to be that easy during the regular season."
