HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY:
(on addressing ball security)
"It's very important when you set particular objectives in a football game as part of your game plan that you go out and execute them. We had a number of turnovers that game that took points off the board...You cannot turn the football over and win in this league. It's evident week in and week out."
(on the adjustments the Bears made in the second half)
"The Bears came out and played us every single snap the second half in two-deep (zone). We had excellent opportunities to run the football. I'm disappointed in our run game, frankly, in the second half - especially (after) the way we ran the ball in the first half."
(on stressing the positive of being in first place)
"We didn't talk about being in first place tonight, I can promise you that. We talked about the football game, what happened in that football game, how important it is to win those games when you have an opportunity to win. I think it's a perfect example of a team that came in here, they found a way to win that game."
QB BRETT FAVRE:
(on whether this was one that got away)
"I felt like we should have won the ballgame. I give credit to Chicago. We made a lot of mistakes, they capitalized. Give them credit, they earned it."
(on the interception by linebacker Brian Urlacher)
"Bad decision on my part. I've been making good decisions (but) that was a bad decision and I wish I could tell you something different. I should have thrown it away...That play was dead from the start so I was trying to make something out of nothing on that one."
(on whether he felt the first-half turnovers would come back and bite them)
"Chicago's a better football team than people give them credit for...They don't need any help, but when we helped them out - put the ball on the ground, make bad decisions, stupid penalties - you're going to get beat."
S NICK COLLINS:
(on if it was anyone's responsibility for the final Bears touchdown)
"Nobody's responsible, they called a great play, that's it. That's all that was."
(on how big of an opportunity missed it is to lose a game like this)
"Big, big man. We had our shot to blow these guys out, we let it slip away. We had too many turnovers. Defense got sloppy in the second half. We just got to come in tomorrow, look at the film and get better from that."
(on if it's a double whammy to lose a division game on national television)
"I didn't have no double whammy. You know, they put it up at the end. It wasn't no double whammy. We did what we had to do, we just let it slip away."
DT RYAN PICKETT:
(on how frustrating it is to lose a game in which they led by 10 at the half)
"It's frustrating man. You know, it's real frustrating knowing that we had them in a position where we could have just finished them and won the game. Having it not turn out that way? We got to keep playing man. I hate to break the news, but I didn't think we'd win every game, so we got to bounce back from this, get better, get in the film room and get ready for Washington."
(on having too many turnovers and penalties)
"Turnovers and penalties hurt us. It's hard to recover from that. All those turnovers and penalties, it was like we kept shooting ourselves in the foot. So we got to get better at that."
(on if it hurts more losing to the Bears on national television)
"It hurt, it hurt because it was a division opponent. We had a chance to go up, you know, take a big step up in the division. Bears came ready to play. They made some big plays, they won the game."
(on if he's happy the bye week isn't next week)
"Oh yeah, I'm happy the bye week isn't next week. Gives us another chance to go out and win next week. That's what we're going to do, we're going to go back to the books and try to get a win when Washington comes in."
RB DESHAWN WYNN:
(on having to leave the game in first half due to cramps)
"Yeah, I'm a heavy sweater, a real heavy sweater and I tried my best to hydrate before the game. I had a couple of runs down there and started to cramp up. And they just took me in and gave me a couple of IVs just to get the problem out of the way early."
(on the difference between the first half and second half)
"We just got off our tempo. We had a good thing going in the first half and for some reason we didn't have that tempo and intensity in the second half."
(on if they were playing with confidence until the end)
"Yeah, I think we played with confidence all the way until the end. Like you said, our field position wasn't the best. But we needed somebody to step up and make a play and we didn't have that."
(on if the turnovers and penalties were mental or physical situation)
"I think, kind of both. Mostly mental though. You just got to remember to tuck the ball, keep it close to you cause you definitely don't want to get any turnovers cause it's an easy way to give away the game. It's something we got to do a better job of, and I think we're going to get it corrected."
WR JAMES JONES:
(on how frustrated he is because of the turnovers)
"I'm not frustrated at all. Game over, mistakes happen. I got to go look forward to Washington."
(on what happened on his two fumbles)
"I fumbled, regular fumble. I lost the ball in my hand, regular fumble."
(on if they knocked it out or if he lost it on his own)
"They hit it and I lost the ball. So basically the same thing. Mistakes happen and at Washington? I got to get better."
BEARS HEAD COACH LOVIE SMITH:
(on a game of two halves)
"We definitely had two halves of football tonight. We didn't play well in the first half. It is as simple as that. We couldn't play the run or the pass, but our offense showed some life late. The second half was a totally different story. Our offense continued to move the ball. Our offensive staff and our offensive players did a super job. We really got our tight ends involved. (Quarterback) Brian Griese did a super job of managing the game. Our defense stepped it up in the second half. This was a crucial game for us."
(on what changed defensively in the second half)
"We played our style of football in the second half. It's not like we changed up a lot of things. We went back to playing our brand of football in the second half."
BEARS QB BRIAN GRIESE:
(on his game-winning touchdown pass to Desmond Clark)
"It was obviously a big play in the game. The play is designed to throw the ball to our fullback in the flat. It is a hard play action, but (A.J.) Hawk covered Jason (McKie). Desmond did a good job setting up the safety and getting open. It is one of those throws where you just try to get it out as fast as you can and hit him in stride to give him a chance to score."
(on the lift this win gives Chicago)
"This was as much (of) a must win as you can get for us. We needed the momentum and we needed the confidence. I thought our guys on both sides of the ball came out and played with heart and character. That's what I am most excited about."

Key plays: A 30-yard swing pass to Adrian Peterson beat a Green Bay blitz and got the Bears across midfield. Two runs by Benson tied the score.
