The Green Bay Packers have designated defensive tackle Cletidus Hunt as the club's Transition player, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Thursday.

Under NFL guidelines, the Packers had until 3 p.m. CST Thursday to designate a Franchise and/or Transition player.

Hunt, a four-year veteran from Kentucky State, finished his first season as the full-time starter at the 'Eagle' defensive tackle position in 2002. He led all defensive linemen with 48 tackles, including a career-high 5.5 sacks (good for third on the club). He also pitched in with 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 4 passes defensed and a blocked extra point attempt.
