The Green Bay Packers Tuesday promoted tight end Sean McHugh from the practice squad to the active roster, and waived linebacker Nick Rogers, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced.

McHugh is a 6-5, 262-pound tight end who originally joined Green Bay on waivers from Tennessee, Sept. 6. He made his NFL debut at Carolina Sept. 13, and then was waived to the practice squad to make room for cornerback Mike McKenzie on the 53-man roster, Sept. 22.

Rogers, a 6-2, 251-pound linebacker out of Georgia Tech, was signed for a second time (Nov. 27) after being waived Nov. 23 to make room for RB James Jackson when the running back unit was injured. The Packers first re-signed Rogers Oct. 19, three days after they waived him in order to promote Kelvin Kight to an injury-depleted wide receiver corps. Green Bay originally claimed Rogers on waivers from Minnesota, Sept. 6.

A third-year player, Rogers played in nine games with two tackles (1 solo) and tallied five special teams stops. He was inactive for the other three contests, and did not appear on the roster Oct. 17 at Detroit.

Rogers originally entered the NFL as the Vikings' sixth-round selection in the 2002 draft.
