Lambeau Field To Incorporate New Security Feature For 2007 Season

PARKING LOT BARRIER TO ENHANCE GAME-DAY SECURITY

Fans attending games at Lambeau Field this season will notice an addition to the parking lot landscape, a 30-inch high barrier encircling the stadium from the Miller Brewing Company Gate around the west side of the stadium ending past the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on the south end.

The barrier, approximately 100 feet from the exterior wall of the stadium, is being installed at the request of the National Football League to provide another measure of security on game days. The NFL has required all teams to have this additional system in place at each stadium for the 2007 season. The barrier at Lambeau Field is scheduled for installation in July.

The organization is working with <a href="http://www.wausautile.com/index.cfm/choice/security/page/intro/id/54"target="new">Wausau Tile, a Wisconsin company that is an industry leader in barrier systems, to design and install the new element to the Lambeau Field..

Packers Sign Draft Picks Harris, Wynn

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday signed RB DeShawn Wynn and TE Clark Harris, the final two players they selected in the 2007 NFL Draft, and released C Pete Bier and DT Devarick Scandrett. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

Wynn, a 5-foot-10, 232-pound selection out of Florida, was the Packers' first of two seventh-round choices (228th overall). After Brandon Jackson, selected five rounds earlier in the same draft, Wynn became just the second running back chosen by the Packers since 2002. He was Florida's leading ground-gainer each of the past two years, including its National Championship season of 2006. Among freshmen in Florida annals, his seven rushing TDs in 2003 ranked third in school history, trailing only Emmitt Smith (13 in 1987) and Fred Taylor (eight in 1994).

Harris, a 6-foot-5, 256-pound choice from Rutgers, was Green Bay's final 2007 selection (243rd overall), th..

(Why wasn't Nick Barnett at practice today?)
Practice was voluntary. We can just get to the incident - Nick Barnett was involved in an incident Saturday night. We have discussed it with Nick, and it will take its due process with the legal department, and we will watch it closely.

(Was today just a review day?)
We had very little going. We had a couple of red zone reviews that was the majority of what we had. We had a couple things in the red zone we added, some new stuff down there. Today and tomorrow is really geared towards young players.

(So the veterans who weren't at practice today won't be tomorrow either?)
Yeah, exactly.

(Have you talked to the league about Nick and are you concerned about repercussions?)
Well, we have notified the league, and we have not heard back from them. They have been notified.

(What is the status of Blackmon?)
He's injured. He has a groin right now.

(Is it serious?)
No, I don't think so. I'm hoping he'll be ready ... hopefully next week he can get some work, but I don't think it can go much longer than that.

(He's been out for about a week?)
Yeah, it's been about six days.

(Your thoughts on Charles Woodson being here?)
I think it's great anytime your younger players can get the work that's needed with your veteran players. I was very happy to see him, very pleased with the shape he's in. He's ready to go. He's further ahead than he was at this time last year. So we had a good week of work with Charles.

(Was he here all week?)
Yes.

(How did Favre do?)
Nine of the 12. He went through nine of the 12 OTAs.

(It sounds like he has a shoulder problem. Is he done now?)

Mike McCarthy Press Conference Transcript - June 7

Hello everybody. Questions, please.

(Does Brandon Jackson have an injury?)
Yes, he had a knee injury, happened earlier in the week. We're hopeful to have him back next week.

(What happened to Clifton? It looked like he dropped out of a drill?)
It looked like he caught his elbow. I haven't talked to Chad actually. It looked like it was in the 2-minute drill, but it looked like he caught his elbow. I think it was Kabeer who was rushing on him.
