Lambeau Field To Incorporate New Security Feature For 2007 Season

PARKING LOT BARRIER TO ENHANCE GAME-DAY SECURITY

Fans attending games at Lambeau Field this season will notice an addition to the parking lot landscape, a 30-inch high barrier encircling the stadium from the Miller Brewing Company Gate around the west side of the stadium ending past the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on the south end.

The barrier, approximately 100 feet from the exterior wall of the stadium, is being installed at the request of the National Football League to provide another measure of security on game days. The NFL has required all teams to have this additional system in place at each stadium for the 2007 season. The barrier at Lambeau Field is scheduled for installation in July.

The organization is working with Wausau Tile, a Wisconsin company that is an industry leader in barrier systems, to design and install the new element to the Lambeau Field..

Sarah Quick and Adam Woullard each has been promoted to assistant director of public relations for the Green Bay Packers, Jason Wied, the Packers' vice president of administration/corporate counsel, announced Thursday.

Quick, a Middletown, Ohio, native, has been a member of the Packers' public relations staff since 2002. She previously worked for the Milwaukee Wave (MISL) from 1998 to 2002 after graduating from Marquette University in 1998.

Woullard, a Thornton, Colo., native, has been a member of the Packers' public relations staff since 2003. A graduate of the University of Southern Colorado in 2002, Woullard worked for the University of Colorado, KDVR-TV (Denver), KTSC Radio (Pueblo, Colo.), and USC Today prior to joining the Packers.

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday signed RB DeShawn Wynn and TE Clark Harris, the final two players they selected in the 2007 NFL Draft, and released C Pete Bier and DT Devarick Scandrett. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

Wynn, a 5-foot-10, 232-pound selection out of Florida, was the Packers' first of two seventh-round choices (228th overall). After Brandon Jackson, selected five rounds earlier in the same draft, Wynn became just the second running back chosen by the Packers since 2002. He was Florida's leading ground-gainer each of the past two years, including its National Championship season of 2006. Among freshmen in Florida annals, his seven rushing TDs in 2003 ranked third in school history, trailing only Emmitt Smith (13 in 1987) and Fred Taylor (eight in 1994).

All available tickets for the seventh 'Packers Family Night, Presented by FOX 11' were sold out as of this morning.

This year's event, which will take place Saturday, Aug. 4, at Lambeau Field, will mark the fourth time the Packers sold every available seat in the stadium bowl.

A popular summer attraction, the event drew 62,701 in 2006, 62,492 in 2005, 60,217 in 2004, 48,898 in 2001, 50,240 in 2000 and 46,420 in 1999. 'Family Night' did not take place for two years (2002-03) during Lambeau Field's redevelopment.

The event will be televised in Green Bay on WLUK-TV FOX 11, as well as on WITI-TV in Milwaukee, WMSN-TV in Madison, WFXS-TV in Wausau and WLAX-TV in La Crosse. Hosted by Drew Smith and other members of the Fox 11 sports and news staffs, the live broadcast will start at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for 'Family Night, Presented by FOX 11,' go on sale this Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m.

Priced again at $8, tickets for the Aug. 4 event may be purchased either in person, over the phone or via the Internet. A limit of eight tickets per purchase again will be in place this year for an initial sales period to allow more fans to have the chance to make a transaction. Parking for the evening will be free.

In-person sales will be conducted at a number of locations, including the Packers ticket office at Lambeau Field, the Resch Center box office and all TicketStar outlets. Viewing Of 2006 Packers Highlights Film Set For Monday Night, June 18

The Green Bay Packers will present a premiere viewing of the team's 2006 highlights film, "Pride and Progress: The Story of the 2006 Green Bay Packers," in the Legends Club of the Lambeau Field Atrium Monday evening, June 18, it was announced Tuesday.

The initial public showing of the film, with free admission, will begin at 7 o'clock. Access to the Atrium area will be through the Miller Brewing Company Gate, with film attendees then taking the escalator to the Legends Club on the fourth level of the Atrium.

Packers offensive lineman Daryn Colledge, a co-recipient of team offensive rookie of the year honors, will be on hand to address the team's upcoming season and answer questions. Colledge also will be available for autographs following the program.

More than 40 Packers players and staff are set to participate in Wednesday's Edgar Bennett Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon.

The Green Bay Packers Friday signed safety Aaron Rouse and released offensive linemen Kevin Barry and Josh Bourke. Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson made the announcement.

Rouse, a 6-foot-4, 223-pound rookie from Virginia Tech, is the second of 11 selections to sign with the team. Chosen in the third round (89th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft, he joins college teammate David Clowney, a fifth-round pick signed Monday, as the first rookies under contract.

Beginning his collegiate career at linebacker, Rouse made the switch to strong safety as a junior. In 2006, he earned the team's President Award, given to the most outstanding leader on defense. In 52 games at Virginia Tech, he made 24 starts and recorded 217 tackles and five interceptions.

Barry, a 6-foot-4, 322-pound veteran out of Arizona, played in 59 games with eight starts. He originally signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2002.

PUBLIC INVITED TO ENJOY TAILGATE PARTY FOLLOWING RIDE

As participating area motorcycle riders prepare for Saturday's fourth annual Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer, organizers of the event also want to encourage non-riders to support the event, especially by attending the free tailgate party following the ride in the southwest corner of the Lambeau Field parking lot.

After the ride returns to Lambeau Field, the tailgate party will begin at 3 p.m. in the parking lot near the Mills Fleet Farm Gate. A raffle, silent auction and music, provided by Elite Music Services, will be part of the festivities.

The Green Bay Packers Monday signed wide receiver David Clowney, the team's first of 11 draft selections to sign with the club. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the signing.

Clowney, a 6-foot, 188-pound player from Virginia Tech, was selected in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. He was one of two Hokies drafted by Green Bay in April, joining safety Aaron Rouse, a third-round pick.

Also excelling as a track athlete in college, Clowney caught a team-high 34 passes in both his junior and senior seasons. He average 18.2 yards per reception his junior year. As a senior, Clowney underwent an emergency appendectomy, but managed to return to game action just nine days after his surgery.

The fourth annual Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer, a motorcycle ride set for Saturday, June 9, to benefit cancer patients and families throughout Northeastern Wisconsin, will feature linebacker A.J. Hawk and other Packers players.

Hawk and his wife, Laura, will lead riders throughout the route in a pace car. Among the other Packers players and staff supporting the event will be Head Coach Mike McCarthy, Aaron Kampman, Jason Spitz, Daryn Colledge, Colin Cole and Noah Herron.
