Packers Coach Of The Week: Kyle Korinek, Reedsville HS

Kyle Korinek, of Reedsville High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Thursday. Korinek is the first recipient of the award in 2007.

"I'd like to thank my parents and my family," Korinek said. "I wouldn't be where I am today without them. I'd also like to thank my fiance Anna. She's stood by me and has been absolutely wonderful."

Korinek was an assistant coach at Reedsville in 2006 under head coach Pat Popp, coaching the linebackers. He was promoted to head coach in 2007.

In his first game in charge of the Panthers, the team pulled off a 53-0 victory over Sevastopol last Friday while racking up 442 rushing yards. The Panthers (1-0) defense held the Pioneers (0-1) to 42 total yards and minus-(-2) rushing.

"We have a great group of senior leaders this year," he said. "They're sick of not winning and not getting to the playoffs. They've made that a goal of theirs. I wouldn't want to coach anywhere el..

(How is Noah Herron doing?)
Noah has a sprained knee and Tyrone (Culver) was our other injured player - he had a sprained shoulder. Early indications are that they're not very serious. That's how Pat (Dr. McKenzie) feels as we're in the locker room here.

(Anything at running back has to be serious though right?)
Well, he didn't seem very concerned about it so I think when we get back together Sunday will be a better sign.

(Did you get a better evaluation of your young players because the Titans had their starters in for so long?)
Clearly - that's what we talked about this week. They were not only going to have the opportunity to play a lot of snaps and really had to double duty, the offensive and defensive players also played special teams. You could really see that they were gassed and that was part of the evaluation too, particularly individuals push through that, but to be able to play against their 1's. I..

Packers-Titans Press Box Notes

PRESEASON WRAPS UP IN TENNESSEE
-The Green Bay Packers play their final preseason contest of 2007 in Tennessee against the Titans, an annual preseason foe since 2002.

-The Packers aim to finish the preseason 3-1, which would be their best mark since '02. That year, the Packers used the momentum of a 3-1 preseason to catapult them to a 12-4 regular season mark and NFC North crown.

-Last Thursday, Green Bay fell to another AFC South opponent, Jacksonville, 21-13, at Lambeau Field.

-Starters are expected to play just a few series Thursday in Nashville, with the regular season opener against Philadelphia just 10 days away.

-Following the game, the Packers will have just one day to asses the roster before the final preseason roster reduction - to 53 players - on Saturday, Sept. 1, by 5:00 p.m. CDT.

-The Titans come off a 28-17 road victory over Buffalo Friday night. Quarterback Vince Young passed for a touchdown and ran for anot..

(Are there any veterans you're going to hold out on Thursday?)
I will hold out Al and Charles Woodson, and I may hold out Marquand Manuel. Everyone else is an injury situation.

(Why Manuel?)
Because I want to look at the younger guys. I know where we are with M&M. We have a lot of questions that need to be answered in Thursday night's ballgame.

(Does that mean Manuel's roster spot is safe?)
We're looking at all of our options. He's a veteran player. I haven't done a good enough job of getting the younger guys reps, particularly in the first half. I want to see Culver play early. I want to see Charlie Peprah play early. That's what we're trying to accomplish. I'm trying to be up front and honest. We're just trying to get as much information as we can about our young players.

(Will Rouse be able to go?)
Rouse will be out of the game because of his hamstring.

(What's the update on Brandon Jackson?)
Brandon Jackson had a mild concussion. We're going through the proper procedure for that injury. He's day-to-day.

(Your thoughts on Wynn and the run game in general?)
DeShawn Wynn has had two good practices. I thought he did a nice job yesterday after reviewing the film. Just seeing him today, I thought he had a good day. He'll have a big opportunity come Thursday night. He'll get a lot of carries in the game. It's a big day for him.

(Is there a chance Jackson will play Thursday?)
He's questionable.

(Is that a tough decision, considering his youth?)
It's his first concussion. It's something that we're being cautious with. We'll see how he's doing later today and in the morning.

(Does Wynn take over if Jackson can't go?)
Wynn will get more opportunities. Noah will start and we'll go from there.

Packers-Titans Preseason Week 4 Dope Sheet

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.

Honoring Calhoun, the first publicity director, the Packers are running this weekly feature as their release, which is being made available to fans exclusively on Packers.com.

A complete edition of the Dope Sheet will be available each week during the season in PDF format, located in the Packers.com Game Centers.

Here are some highlights from the Packers-Titans Preseason Week 4 Dope Sheet:

(Have you decided how much Brett will play on Thursday?)
We're talking about possibly playing him a couple series. We talked a little bit about it this morning. I'm going to let the week's work kind of dictate how much I play the offense. As far as play time as a whole, the offense will probably play a little more than the defense. You could see the way we practiced today, we have a ton of different combinations. We had a lot of guys working the opponent compared to more guys working the game-plan stuff, and what we're trying to do is make sure everybody gets equal quality of the work just to keep our conditioning up throughout the week. That's why you saw the different combinations of people out there today.

(What did you think of DeShawn Wynn?)
In practice today? It's good to see him back. He's a talented young man. He has very quick feet. He had a full load, so I'm really curious to watch the film. It was good to see him back out ther..

(Do you have an update on Donald Driver?)
Not real specifics, other than the fact that he was feeling better today, and the doctors are still fairly encouraged. He's, as you guys know, you guys know better than me, you've all been around him during the time when I was out in Seattle, he's a remarkably tough professional football player that was also blessed with remarkable genetics, I think. But we're hopeful. I don't know how you can predict this, but we feel fairly good that he's going to be OK.

(So you don't anticipate him missing any regular season games?)
Well, that's what we're hoping for. I don't know that we have enough information there. We don't have enough to say that he won't. I just don't want to promise you something and then it doesn't happen. But we feel pretty good right now. We're lucky.

(Did Dr. McKenzie eliminate the Lisfranc possibility?)

(How is Driver?)
Donald is classified as a foot sprain. He's in good spirits. We'll have more information tomorrow.

(Is this like Ferguson's foot sprain?)
It's the long French word. Pat didn't seem to believe it was to that extent. He just told me it was a foot sprain. I went over to talk to Donald and he's in good spirits. I don't have a diagnosis as far as weeks.

(Did you see him right after?)
He's in the training room right now with a bag of ice on his foot. He's sitting there. A bunch of people are sitting around talking. As I said, he's in good spirits.

(How is Jason Spitz?)
Spitz is a re-occurring calf. It was bothering him. I was a little nervous with the number of people we had injured coming into this game. I pulled him right away.

(Did you reduce play time to stop the injuries?)
I can't control it. I was just trying to lower the risk of injury ..

Former Marine Scott Krutchen To Be Recognized Thursday Night For 'Operation Fan Mail'

Former Marine Lance Corporal Scott Krutchen and his family are guests of the Packers and Festival Foods this evening for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Krutchen (pronounced CROOK-ten), a resident of Madison, Wis., was injured in November 2004 when his unit's HUMVEE was hit by a roadside bomb near Mahmudiyah, Iraq. He later retired from the Marines in July 2005 due to medical reasons associated with his injuries sustained in the attack. He is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is joined tonight by his mother, Vicky Moeser, and a friend, Matt Briscoe, still an active member of the Marine Corps.

New this season, 'Operation Fan Mail' is a program in which the Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods recognize a military family at each home game.

USA Football, a non-profit organization leading the sport's development on a grassroots level, in conjunction with the NFL and NFL Players Association, is celebrating the start of the season with a national "Play Football" campaign.
(Last year the Cincinnati game was the third preseason game and the team looked tired. Did that affect your approach to this preseason?)
It was a small factor. It was really the whole offseason program as far as building off of this. We have two factors that I need to be aware of. One is the medical condition of our football team. With this latest group of injuries, it's all two to four weeks. The timing is not very good for us going from 75 to 53. That's the first problem. The second is that we have a number of positions that aren't answered yet. I need to clear those things up and I don't want to wait until Tennessee to do that. That's really why we're changing gears as far as playing our ones for three quarters in this game. We're going to play bunch of combinations. We need to sit down as a staff tomorrow and do that. I told the players today that they'll be working with someone they haven't gotten a lot of reps with because we have to get all the information t..

Packers Sign FB Cobb, Release S Underwood

The Green Bay Packers signed FB Erryn Cobb, a rookie free agent from Northwestern, and released S Marviel Underwood. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Tuesday.

Cobb, a four-year letterwinner and team co-captain in 2006, played in 49 career games for the Wildcats. He began his career in 2003 as a linebacker before moving to fullback in 2004. Cobb was the team's starting tight end in 2005 and played 'superback', a combination of tight end and fullback, as a senior in 2006.

The 6-foot-1, 241-pound player also blocked two punts in 2006. He will wear No. 25.

One of the Packers' fourth-round picks in the 2005 NFL Draft, Underwood played in 16 career games for Green Bay.

(Where were Underwood and KGB?)
Marviel I spoke to before practice. We intend to release him tomorrow. Why we did it was because of the competition at the safety position. (He's) a great individual. I can't say enough positive things about him and it gives him an opportunity to hook on with somebody else. We will make that move tomorrow.

(And Kabeer?)
Kabeer has a family situation that he's attending to in Milwaukee. He'll be back tomorrow. He does have a bruised knee so he's day-to-day. I'll see him tomorrow. He'll be day-to-day this week.

(Was Underwood just a different player since his injury?)
I thought he did a really good job rehabbing it. I don't think he's back to where he was last year. I thought last year he was having a very good camp. The other part of it is the competition at that position has heated up. We felt it was in everybody's best interest to make that move.

Packers Tickets Available For Thursday Night's Jaguars Game

FANS REMINDED THAT UMBRELLAS ARE PROHIBITED IN STADIUM

Tickets are available for Thursday night's Bishop's Charities game featuring the Green Bay Packers vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Packers announced Monday.

A few hundred tickets were returned to the Packers by the Bishop's Charities Committee, according to Mark Wagner, the Packers' director of ticket operations.

The available tickets are $72, $64 and $59 each. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Packers' ticket office at Lambeau Field (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or by telephone at 920/569-7501.

Wagner also asked fans to pay special attention to the right end of the ticket with the perforated portion containing the section, row and seat number. That portion of the ticket needs to stay intact; it is torn off as the fans pass through the turnstile. A few instances occurred last Thursday with fans arriving at the gates with that specific portion of the ticket missing.

(What were your general impressions of Saturday night's game, and does your familiarity with the opponent help in the evaluations?)
Probably not. On that aspect of your question, probably not. You just evaluate who you're seeing. If you know who they're going against and you a have a little bit better gauge of the quality of that player, but probably not. In terms of what I thought of the game, I thought it kind of disintegrated, or something. First of all I thought our guys played hard and they played effectively. We moved the ball on offense, which there seemed to be a lot of angst around about that, so that was good. I thought our defense played pretty good, and our special teams played solid. Again, I think probably both teams, all things being equal, in a game like this where it's raining and it's 38-6 or something at halftime, I imagine everybody would like to just say OK, let's just call it. But you have to keep playing. Other than that, I thought in the sec..

Mike McCarthy Postgame Press Conference Transcript - Aug. 18

(Can you give us an injury update?)
Shaun Bodiford had an MCL injury. Mike Montgomery had an MCL injury. Ryan Powdrell also had an MCL injury. Orrin Thompson had an MCL injury. All four of our players had MCL (injuries).

(What do you mean when you say MCL?)
There are different degrees obviously. I'll know more in the morning. I'm guessing at least a couple weeks for all four.

(What's your overall take on the game?)
We definitely took a step forward as a football team. There are a number of positives that we can build on. I'm a little sour with the way the fourth quarter went. I'm very happy with the progress that we're making. We had a number of objectives heading into this football game, as far as being physical, finishing plays. Ball security on offense was clearly the one negative that we need to fix. I thought our group came out ready to play tonight. We had a significant lead at halftime. I'm pleased with..
New this season, 'Operation Fan Mail' is a program in which the Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods recognize a military family at each home game.
Packers Release WR Robert Ferguson

The Green Bay Packers have released veteran wide receiver Robert Ferguson. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Friday.

"We thank Robert for everything he has given to the Packers," Thompson said. "In addition to his contributions on the playing field, Robert has been a positive influence in our locker room and a good teammate. As with any veteran player who has been here, we wanted to make this move early because this gives him the best chance to catch on with another organization in the NFL."

The Packers' second-round pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, Ferguson played in 60 games for Green Bay over the past six seasons, catching 116 passes for 1,577 yards and 12 touchdowns.

(How much satisfaction do you take as a GM seeing Cullen Jenkins justify his contract?)
There weren't any concerns about him not quote-unquote justifying it. Cullen has been a good football player here for a long time. We felt like the move to defensive end helps put a little bit brighter spotlight on his abilities. He's a good football player and he's worked very, very hard this offseason to keep improving, which is what true professionals do. Yeah, I was glad to see him have success, but it doesn't surprise me.

(Is he on the cusp of being a great defensive lineman?)
Well, adjectives like great or good or outstanding or excellent ... we're really, really happy to have him. He presents a lot of problems to offensive linemen. He's unique in his physicality, in his build, in his balance. He's not your classic 6-foot-6 defensive end, but he's tough to handle.

(Is there a sense of urgency to get another body at running back?) ..

(Is Rory Johnson a guy you want to take a good look at the next couple of games?)
We'd definitely like get a good look at Rory. That's exactly what we saw in college, very similar playmaking ability, particularly from the backside with the speed that he showed in the Pittsburgh game. He's just been hurt. We need to look at that second group of linebackers and the different combinations over the next three weeks. Hopefully, they can all stay healthy because that hasn't sorted itself out yet.

(What are you expecting from the first-team offense on Saturday night?)
Score points No. 1. We want to get out there, get into a rhythm. Get our timing better. Our execution wasn't very high. We're looking at going 25 to 35 reps with the first group on offense and defense. We'll see how that plays out whether it's a quarter or two quarters. We just want to continue to grow and find that rhythm and timing that's necessary.

(Where was Nick Barnett today?)
Nick's lower back tightened up on him. He was here for the job-thru at the beginning of practice and I sent him up for more rehab.

(Did Al Harris re-tweak his back?)
I think so. I haven't gotten a report on it yet but that's what it looked like.

(How happy are you with that second unit of linebackers?)
I thought they were productive as a group in the game. Bishop keeps getting better. I think Abdul Hodge has done some nice things. Havner has shown some flexibility. Rory, it was good to see him out there. Tracey White has had a very good camp, both at linebacker and special teams. Special teams will be the determining factor for that group.

(Are you confident those guys could step in if something happened to one of the starters?)
Absolutely.

(What did you think of the 2-minute drill at the end of practice?)
I thought the second group did a nice job. It was a field goal to win (scenario). I thought the second offense did a good job. I thought the first defense did a nice job in the 1's vs. 1's with the interception. They needed a touchdown to win that drill.

(What did you think of practice as a whole?)
I thought it started very good. I thought the team run was very physical, spirited. I thought the offense got after the defense in that particular drill. I thought the defense got after the offense in the blitz drill. Seven-on-seven were pretty good. In the team drills I think the defense got after the offense.

(Is the defense ahead of the offense right now?)

(Did you see improvement in Rodgers on Saturday?)
I've had that question a couple times from some of the writers. I've seen Aaron progress as a quarterback since he's been here. We've had a lot of confidence in him from the get-go. But having said that, it was good to see him have a little success out there. He moved around, saved a few plays. I think he has a very good arm, very accurate thrower. I think he showed us what we see in practice every day. But to do it in game action obviously is very important, and I think he feels pretty good about how the game went.

(Have you had to be patient watching him develop?)
I guess so. But again, I've been OK. We did a lot of work on him prior to the draft and we've studied him since he's been here. The proof is still in the pudding, you know, when he finally gets that shot to take over a team, whether it's this team or somewhere else, or any quarterback for that matter, it's playing the games an..

We came out and threw the ball six times to start. I thought the third-down conversions we had some opportunities. I thought the protection was good for the most part throughout the evening, starting with the first group. It's a starting point. I think our pad level was high on offense, so those are things we'll look at tomorrow in the film. We have work to do.

Overall though, you're pleased to come back to Pittsburgh and get the win?
It's important to win, you know winning is important. That was obviously our goal when we came here. The focus for our football team was to come out and play a physical football game against a physical football team. I think we accomplished that. We talked about ball command, ball extraction with the defense with the turnover ratio. Offense did not give the ball up, and I thought that was the key to the game. I saw a lot of positive things out there by our football team, but we still have a lot of work to do.

Packers, Bellin Health Announce Partnership

The Green Bay Packers and Bellin Health have entered into an agreement making the health system the exclusive health care partner of the Packers organization, Packers Chairman Bob Harlan and Bellin Health President and CEO George Kerwin announced Thursday.

"The Green Bay Packers are proud to be associated with Bellin Health," said Harlan. "It is a health care organization that sets the standard for excellence and is a standout member of our community.

"For generations, Bellin Health has served the greater Green Bay area. Much like the Packers, the organization was founded here and has grown with the community. Its physicians and employees have a great feel for our area and its values. We are fortunate to have their excellent services."

"We genuinely value the opportunity to be the health care partner of the Green Bay Packers," said Kerwin. "Through this relationship we hope to create an experience for the residents of Green Bay and Northeast Wisconsin that ..

(What happened to Herron on that play?)
I actually didn't see it. I was talking to the quarterback about the look we had on the play. My understanding is that the DB was reaching in to get the ball and caught him in the throat. He's going to be fine.

(Were you hoping Wynn would practice today?)
I was hopeful he'd go today. We'll see what happens tonight. His quad strain is a little more than anticipated. If he can't go tonight then we still have 48 hours to get him ready for Saturday.

(Is this a setback for him?)
I'll say this, you can't make the football team by not being on the field. Availability and accountability are the building blocks of our organization. We have a number of guys that are nicked up and not going. We'll go with the ones that are there. I've never gotten bent out of shape over injuries. They're a part of the game. It also tells you a lot about your football team. You want people you can ..

Ted Thompson Press Conference Transcript - Aug. 7

(How important is the defensive line when building a team?)
Huge. We've talked from the get-go that both the offensive and defensive lines are the engines that run the thing. You can have as good a secondary as you can possibly have, but if you don't have a defensive line that can control the run and put pressure on the passer and things like that, in this day and age it makes it unbelievably difficult to be successful. So we put a lot of weight in that, and there is a lot of weight in our defensive line.

(When you were here before with Ron Wolf, he spent big money on Reggie White, Sean Jones and Santana Dotson. Are you following his blueprint there?)
Well, you'd love to get to a point where you have a defensive line like that. We like our defensive line a lot, but when you consider Reggie White, Gilbert Brown, Santana Dotson and Sean Jones, that's a pretty good foursome. But yeah, we did in those days. It's a little bit more difficult i..

(What do you think of the quality and depth of your defensive line?)
It really started last year. I thought that group was the most consistent on the football team and had the most depth. Adding Justin (Harrell) and some other young guys just adds to that depth. It's a very, very competitive position.

(How important is that to building a team?)
When we talk about the blue print of the Green Bay Packers we talk about the offensive and defensive line. That's where we put our emphasis. The transactions we've made for our football team reflect that. It all starts up front. Offensive and defensive line is a priority for us. I'm very happy with the depth at the defensive line.

(How good is that to see it come to fruition so quickly?)
Absolutely, we'll continue to build that group through the draft. You can never have enough good offensive and defensive linemen.
(Driver signed a contract extension. What does he mean to this team?)
Donald Driver is one of the leaders on our football team. He's clearly a veteran leader on the offense. I think that was illustrated when he came back last week, the enthusiasm that he just brings to practice and how it uplifts the offense. I'm very happy for Donald.

(What is Colledge's injury?)
Daryn Colledge has a mid-back sprain. I anticipate he'll go tomorrow.

(Is there a difference in intensity with this being a game week?)
I think the intensity was good today. Like we've talked about in the past, we're still in our installation phase in training camp. We installed this morning, and that was our eighth installation, with the emphasis on the last eight plays, and third down was the emphasis today. I thought the third down work was really good. I thought the team run could be better. But getting the last eight plays in, I thought our work..

Packers-Steelers Preseason Week 1 Dope Sheet

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.

Honoring Calhoun, the first publicity director, the Packers are running this weekly feature as their release, which is being made available to fans exclusively on Packers.com.

A complete edition of the Dope Sheet will be available each week during the season in PDF format, located in the Packers.com Game Centers.

Here are some highlights from the Packers-Steelers Preseason Week 1 Dope Sheet:

LET THE GAMES BEGIN
-The Packers kick off their 87th NFL season with a preseason trip to Pittsburgh. For the second straight season, Green Bay opens the preseason on the road.
(Why didn't Charles Woodson and Al Harris play?)
We just felt that it was very important to get the young corners as much work as possible. When I put Al down I decided to put Charles down. It was done to make sure that we got enough reps with the young players and also being smart with our veterans.

(What happened to P.J. Pope?)
P.J. went down with a knee. I haven't had a chance to talk to (head trainer) Pepper (Burress) yet but (Pope) went down with a knee early in the scrimmage. I don't have a final diagnosis on him.

(What did you see out of the young corners?)
Tramon Williams had a big hit. (Will) Blackmon showed up. I got a chance to watch the defense. I have to learn to not watch the offense. That's going to be very competitive. I thought Frank Walker made a couple good plays. I'm excited to look at the film. That was our objective, to get those corners as much work as possible. The same holds for the s..

(Do the tight ends get extra hazard pay around here?)
Extra hazard pay? They need to get healthy, yeah. We're short there. That's why practice was kind of adjusted there at the end. We had to do some more special teams work. We wanted to go a little more red zone. Donald Lee is obviously healthy, Joe Werner practiced today. But Clark Harris has an ankle sprain, and Zac Alcorn has blisters and pig toes, his feet are all screwed up. Bubba's eye is still a problem, so those three guys are out. And obviously we put Tory Humphrey on IR today after the surgery on his ankle. So, a little short.

(He had the surgery?)
Had the surgery. Yesterday. Or two days ago. Two days ago actually.

(Happy with Lee's progress so far in camp?)
I think Donald Lee has had an excellent camp. He's playing with a lot of confidence. I think he's a lot more comfortable with what we're asking him to do. We probably moved him around a little t..

The Green Bay Packers have signed punter Ryan Dougherty, a non-drafted rookie free agent out of East Carolina. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the signing Friday.

Dougherty was a three-time All-Conference USA selection, with a career average of 42.7 yards per punt. The four-year standout had 68 punts inside the 20, playing in 47 career games.

The Orlando, Fla., product also served as the team's kickoff specialist his junior and senior seasons, accounting for 47 touchbacks. Dougherty was a three-time watch list candidate for the Ray Guy Award, presented to the nation's best college punter.

The 6-foot-1, 233-pound player will wear No. 8.
Lombardi Avenue Construction Complete; Roadway Ready For 2007 Season

ROADWAY READY FOR 2007 SEASON, INCLUDING SATURDAY'S 'FAMILY NIGHT'; FANS SHOULD NOTE CHANGES

Lombardi Avenue's makeover is complete and it's just in time for the 2007 Packers season, starting with Saturday's 'Family Night.'

The two-stage project, which began in 2004 with the revamping of Lombardi Avenue from Ashland to Ridge Road, last week completed the second phase, from Ridge Road to Highway 41. The east-west artery now has three lanes of traffic in both directions from Highway 41 to Oneida Street, along with designated turning lanes at all major intersections.

With construction finished, the Brown County Highway Department is recommending that Packers fans attending games this year familiarize themselves with results of the work from Ridge Road west to Highway 41.

"We're pleased the Lombardi Avenue project has been completed ahead of schedule," said Dan Drewery, traffic engineer for the Brown County Highway Department. "For years, many ..

(Are you concerned Morency's injury may linger for a while or that he won't be ready for the season?)
We're not anticipating that. It's one of those things that you think it's something and then you do all your tests and stuff and it's a little bit more involved than that. But we feel pretty comfortable in the time frame of, I guess theoretically, maybe it will take most of the preseason, but we feel like he's going to be OK.

(For the organization, what does the Family Night scrimmage mean?)
It means a lot. I don't even remember the genesis of it. I think we probably used to have a scrimmage out there, and then we just decided to move it in. I think it gives a lot of people a chance to see the team that sometimes can't get tickets to come to our games. I know it seems like a completely different crowd. It's usually a little rambunctious, if that's the right word. We always look forward to it. I think it's a great tradition. I think we st..

(What do you think about the kicking competition?)
I think we've got two very good kickers. It's going to be good competition. We'll probably do some more tonight and turn up the heat on those guys. And also Saturday night so they can kick in front of a loud crowd. We're just trying to get as good a look as possible at both Dave (Rayner) and Mason (Crosby).

(Do you put more credence on kicks in the preseason as opposed to in practice?)
Clearly, you put more credence into the game situation. That will carry the most weight but practice is important. Everything is charted. Everything is looked at and analyzed on film. We'll look at it and make our decision.

(What would you like to see from your guys performing in front of a big crowd?)
There are a number of things that we're able to accomplish with the Family Night scrimmage. No. 1 is to play in that type of environment, especially for the younger players that h..

The 2007 Official Green Bay Packers Yearbook is now on sale and provides an inside look at the team, organization and rich history.

Keeping Packers fans informed since 1960, this year's edition follows the tradition of giving readers the opportunity to step inside the inner workings at Lambeau Field, both on and off the field.

In addition to the 2007 roster and team schedule, the yearbook features information about Mike McCarthy, Brett Favre, Donald Driver, Aaron Kampman and other key Packers players and personnel.

Fans will not want to miss long-time Packers writer Bud Lea's commemorative article celebrating Lambeau Field's 50th Anniversary, which includes Team Historian Lee Remmel's narrative on the famed Ice Bowl.

Distribution of the Green and Gold's official insiders source extends beyond Wisconsin to most of the 50 states. Due to its popularity and market, the Packers Yearbook is consistently a top-seller among all sports yearbooks.
