(What are you going to do on vacation?)
Oh, shoot, it's not really vacation. Vacation, I have about a week left. I'll be in town for another week just to kind of tie some things up for training camp and some personal things. Then I'll head down to Texas and spend some time with my daughter, Alex, and then I'll come back and move into the new house with Jessica and then I'll probably get back to Texas before camp.

(Since today was kind of the last day of school, how was the focus?)
I thought the practice as a whole was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was the best practice of the week. Really just took out the practice at the end there just to thank the guys for the extra time and the effort that they put in this offseason. Clearly I think it's the best offseason that we've had to date (with) the individual time that the players spent with the coaches, the commitment to the offseason program and the strength and conditioning all the way thr..

Green Bay Packers To Expand Pro Shop Game Day Store On Lambeau Field's West Side

The Green Bay Packers are expanding the Packers Pro Shop Game Day store on Lambeau Field's west side.

The project, which will be completed in time for the upcoming season, will expand the store by approximately 2,000 square feet and provide an enhanced shopping experience for its customers, including a more efficient checkout process and greater selection of merchandise.

"We have thousands of fans that utilize that store on game day and this expansion will allow us to better serve them," said Kate Hogan, Packers director of retail operations. "We'll have an expanded shopping area, greater selection and an experience that will be even more similar to our Pro Shop in the Atrium. The new checkout area will be more efficient as well and allow our fans to shop and quickly get back to the game."

The store's expanded size will be nearly 5,300 square feet and also will include flat-screen TVs.

Charles missed this morning's practice for a personal matter. He was at the meetings and he'll be back here by 1. And Kabeer, just being smart with his injury.

(Do you have plans to use the radio helmet for the defense in this camp like you did in the OTAs, and how is the progress with that?)
We've actually used it throughout the OTAs, like you've already stated. We'll continue to use it through camp, really to get the players used to it, having the voice in their ear, and also the time frame that you're able to talk to the defensive player. We have a 40-second clock out there that operates and is used on every play. We've been using it throughout and we'll continue to use it through training camp, and it's really gone very smooth.

(You've used it for talking to QBs, what is the toughest adjustment to get used to?)
It's really the player in my view. Back in '94, when it came in..

NFL/LISC Grassroots Program, Packers Grant $50K For Bleachers At G.B. Southwest H.S.

Award is part of $5.43 million in new grants to athletic fields nationwide

Dahlin Family Stadium at Green Bay Southwest High School will get new bleachers thanks in part to a $50,000 grant from the National Football League Grassroots Program, it was announced today.

The grant, awarded by the Green Bay Packers, the NFL Youth Football Fund and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), is part of $5.43 million in field refurbishment awards allocated this year to community groups in areas surrounding the 32 NFL markets.

"The Packers are pleased the school system will receive funds for new bleachers at a field that's a great environment for high school football, as well as other prep and youth sports," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy, a member of the NFL Youth Football Committee since 2002. "We're proud to help enhance a venue where members of our community gather to enjoy sporting activities."

Riders, Packers Readying For Saturday's Cruise For Cancer; Public Invited To Enjoy Tailgate Party Following Ride

As participating area motorcycle riders prepare for tomorrow's fifth annual Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer, organizers of the event also are encouraging non-riders to support the cause, especially by attending the free tailgate party following the ride in the southwest corner of the Lambeau Field parking lot.

The party will begin at 3 p.m. in the Lambeau Field parking lot near the Mills Fleet Farm Gate at the southwest corner of the stadium. A raffle, auction and music will be part of the festivities.

The auction will feature autographed pieces of Packers memorabilia, included an item signed by Brett Favre. Other sports teams will be represented as well with items from Reggie Bush of the Saints, Adrian Peterson of the Vikings, Devin Hester of the Bears and Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs of the Redskins. Autographed baseballs from the Red Sox and Rockies will be offered, too.

(How has Tory Humphrey performed so far?)
Tory looks good. He is feeling his way around some things. We talked about him last week in here and I am excited he is back. He has overcome a significant injury and had a very good training camp the year before and was excited about his spring last year. Unfortunately the injury happened at the beginning of training camp, so it's great to have him back. He's the body type that you're looking for as far as what we ask our tight end to do. He just has to stay available, but he's done a nice job.

(Does he have potential as a pass catcher and as a blocker?)
I think Tory and Donald (Lee) and Jermichael (Finley), you look at the body types of those three and they are all very similar. I think their strength is their athletic ability, the ability to play in space. When you have the 250-pound man as athletic as those three, it gives you the ability to do things from the backfield, out in space. It also..

Tickets for 'Packers Family Night, Presented by FOX 11,' go on sale Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m., through Ticketmaster and may be purchased either over the phone, via the Internet or in person.

'Family Night,' set for Sunday, Aug. 3, will feature an intra-squad scrimmage between the Packers' offense and defense. Evening activities get underway in the stadium at 5:30 p.m., followed by on-field football drills at 6:30 and the scrimmage at approximately 7:30.

Hats To Support Parkersburg, Iowa, Tornado Relief Fund For Sale

The Jacksonville Jaguars are selling an Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons Tornado Relief hat on their team's web site to help raise money for tornado relief efforts in Parkersburg, Iowa. Parkersburg is the home area of Jaguars center Brad Meester, as well as Packers DE Aaron Kampman, Lions DE Jared DeVries and Broncos C Casey Wiegmann.

All four players played at Aplington-Parkersburg High School, which along with hundreds of homes and businesses was leveled by the May 25 tornado. Proceeds from the hats will be distributed to the Parkersburg Relief Fund by Meester when he returns to Iowa next week.

(How is Brandon Chillar fitting in on and off of the field?)
Brandon is someone that we targeted in free agency and we were very fortunate to be able to sign him. I think he really fits into the way we like to play defense. He is a tremendous athlete. He has also shown the ability to potentially play all three positions in our scheme, so I really like the way he has stepped into our program. His work ethic is very high, and he's just a very good fit for our scheme. Athletic, can run, smart, tough, I think he is a very good blitzer. You don't really get to see it in the spring workouts, but having the ability to compete against him the last two years in St. Louis, where he played primarily in the blitz scheme in both the base and sub packages, so we're very pleased that he's a part of our football team.

Packers Ticket Invoices Due Wednesday For Brown County Residents

The Green Bay Packers Monday reminded Brown County residents who received invoices enabling them to purchase tickets for a 2008 game that payment is due Wednesday, June 4, at the Packers' ticket office.

Invoices can be dropped off at the Packers' ticket office at Lambeau Field from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents also may pay for their tickets online using the Packers' new Ticketmaster system via Packers.com. Instructions for the online payment method were sent to residents with the ticket invoices.

The invoices due Wednesday were sent to county residents whose names recently were chosen in a second ticket drawing. Those selected were sent an invoice for four tickets to a yet-to-be-determined game for the 2008 season.
