Well, it's a combination of not making enough plays and doing some of the basic things we've been able to do in the past. I thought the biggest negative today was field position. It's two weeks in a row we're playing on a football field that's 200 yards longer than our opponent. It's tough to overcome that. I thought that was a huge factor. And we've got to keep them out of the end zone. They made big plays down the stretch. Offensively, I felt we were able to control the clock, manage the football game, we were backed up a number of times where we had to get long drives and we were able to accomplish that. The Green Bay Packers hosted the team championship of the annual NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition Sunday prior to the Packers-Panthers game.

The participants, 20 boys and 20 girls ages 8 to 15, advanced through local, regional and sectional competitions across Wisconsin to reach the team championship contest which took place in the Don Hutson Center. All 40 competitors then displayed their passing talents on Lambeau Field as part of the pregame festivities, with the competition winners being introduced as well.

Air Force Captain Kyle Kruger and his family will be recognized by the Packers and Festival Foods at Sunday's game vs. the Carolina Panthers for 'Operation Fan Mail.'

Kruger, a native of Townsend, Wis., is an explosive ordnance disposal flight commander based at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. He recently returned to Minot after several months of deployment at Baghdad International Airport and is home for Thanksgiving. His other deployments include Tallil Airbase in Iraq and Manas Airbase in Kyrgyzstan. He also has been based at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota and Osan Airbase in Korea.

Packers wide receiver Donald Driver will introduce the new children's book he authored, Quickie Makes the Team, at an 11 a.m. press conference Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Packers Pro Shop, to be immediately followed by a book signing until 1 p.m., also at the Pro Shop.

Quickie Makes the Team, Driver's first foray into writing, was conceived and written by Driver and inspired by his own bedtime storytelling to his children, Cristian and Christina. It also has inspirational comments from Driver to children.

That was definitely encouraging. The plan for Mark, after yesterday's medical evaluation, was to rest him Wednesday and Thursday. He was able to do the walk-through today, which was good for him because every week you have some new wrinkles and so forth. So he is definitely making progress.

(How does that happen that he was able to do something?)
There is treatment in the morning. They have treatment every morning. Every morning before the meetings there is a segment with the medical staff, and it goes on through the day up until practice. It wasn't a very strenuous day that he went through. It wasn't putting his hamstring in harm.

(Do you find it tougher for the team to focus during a holiday week, especially with both of your games this season around the holidays coming on short weeks?)

Our plan with Mark Tauscher is we obviously rested him today. We'll have the same plan tomorrow and Friday is medical evaluation. We'll see how much work he'll be able to do on Friday. I know Mark is very optimistic. He has been very positive about his chances to play. We'll determine his practice participation on Friday morning, but he will be down today and tomorrow.

Yeah, he got hit in the ribs. Just being smart with him because it's technically Tuesday for our players.

Did not have to adjust the practice schedule today even with the number of guys limited because of coming off a Monday night game. For his performance vs. the New Orleans Saints, wide receiver Greg Jennings was chosen as the Packers Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week. The weekly exhibit contains memorabilia from the game against the Saints, including a game ball autographed by Jennings.

Jennings led the Packers with eight catches for 101 yards and one touchdown.

Each Monday (or in the case of a Monday night game, Tuesday), new items from the previous day's game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. Packers Send Invoices For Playoff Tickets This Week

The Green Bay Packers are mailing playoff ticket invoices to season ticket holders this week in preparation for a possible home playoff game (or games) at Lambeau Field.

Ticket prices have been set by the NFL for the playoffs and apply to every regular seat in the seating bowl. Each seat is $98 for the Wild Card game, $107 for the Divisional Playoff game and $148 for the NFC Championship. 'Green' package ticket holders, per regular custom, have been invoiced for the same seats they hold during the regular season.

Any seats not claimed by 'Green' package ticket holders will be randomly allocated to 'Gold' package ticket holders, who have been invoiced for the same number of seats they hold during the regular season, up to four.

Invoices sent reflected the best possible playoff scenario: a Divisional Playoff and NFC Championship game. In the event one or both games are not played at Lambeau Field, or a Wild Card game is played instead of the Divisional Playof..

New Yellow Pages Cover Features First-Ever Packers Theme, Photo of Lambeau Field

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and the Green Bay Packers unveiled the cover of the new Green Bay/De Pere AT&T Real Yellow Pages today featuring a photo of Lambeau Field and the bronze statue of fabled former head coach Vince Lombardi located in the stadium's Harlan Plaza.

$36,000 Raised Thus Far in 2008

Through yesterday's Packers-Bears game, the Green Bay Packers and Sargento have raised $36,000 for "Touchdowns for Charity," a program that raises money for the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee County and Paul's Pantry in Green Bay. The two organizations are in their sixth season teaming together to support the effort.

For each touchdown scored by the Packers during the 2008 season, Sargento is donating $1,000 to the Hunger Task Force. This season Sargento also is donating $500 to Paul's Pantry for every touchdown scored by a wide receiver.

Thus far in 2008, $31,000 (on 31 TDs) has been raised for the Hunger Task Force and $5,000 (on 10 TDs scored by wide receivers) for Paul's Pantry.

Since partnering five years ago, Sargento - the official cheese of the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field - has contributed more than $217,000 to the Hunger Task Force.

Anyone from Wisconsin or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan who has a 35-45 foot evergreen tree and wants to donate it to the event is asked to submit a proposal, in 100 words or less, on why his or her tree should be used for Festival of Lights and displayed at Lambeau Field through the holiday season.

Bart and Cherry Starr to Appear at Event

The Green Bay Packers, along with SecureHorizons by UnitedHealthcare, is presenting Training Camp for Seniors with Bart and Cherry Starr, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The free event for all Medicare beneficiaries and members of the general public will feature a talk from the Starrs and a full day of activities and programs to help seniors live healthier lives.

Bellin Health, the Official Healthcare Partner of the Packers, also will participate and offer various health screenings, interactive fitness demonstrations and informational talks throughout the day. The popular 'Football 101, An NFL Workshop for Women' is set to return to Lambeau Field on Saturday, Nov. 22.

An interactive and entertaining event geared for women to learn about football, 'Football 101' will take place on the Associated Bank Club Level at the Lambeau Field Atrium and in the Don Hutson Center. Cost for the event is $65; attendees must be 16 or older.

Jeff Klemp, of Franklin High School, has been named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday.

In his third year as the head coach at Franklin, Klemp lead the team to its second playoff win of the season last Saturday, when the Sabers defeated No. 1 seed Milton High School by a score of 44-28.

Franklin has now advanced to the third round of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs, and will travel to Verona to take on the 10-1 Wildcats this coming Saturday.

"We've made the playoffs nine out of the last 10 years, and that is a testament to the hard work that our coaches have put into this team," said Klemp. "The level of consistency that they bring to our kids is a pillar of our program."

Two years after he co-founded the Packers with Curly Lambeau, George Calhoun began writing a piece called The Dope Sheet, which served as the official press release and game program from 1921-24.

Honoring Calhoun, the first publicity director, the Packers are running this weekly feature as their release, which is being made available to fans exclusively on Packers.com.

For his performance vs. the Tennessee Titans, wide receiver Donald Driver was chosen as the Packers 'Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The weekly exhibit contains memorabilia from the game against the Titans, including a game ball autographed by Driver.

Driver had his best performance of the season Sunday, posting his first 100-yard game in '08 as he led the team with seven catches for 136 yards. In the process, he tied former receiver Sterling Sharpe's record for consecutive games with a catch when he caught a five-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter. The catch gave him 103 straight games with a reception.

Each Monday (or in the case of a Monday night game, Tuesday), new items from the previous day's game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. The Green Bay Packers have activated DT Justin Harrell from the physically unable to perform list and released DE Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the transactions Saturday.

Harrell appeared in seven games, including two starts, as a rookie in 2007.

In nine seasons with the Packers, Gbaja-Biamila appeared in 124 career games, including 74 starts. He is the franchise's all-time sacks leader with 741/2, having passed Reggie White (681/2) in 2007.
