Fan Fest Adds Crosby, Wells, Levens, Others To Lineup

Tickets Currently On Sale for March 13-14 Event at Lambeau Field Atrium

Additional Packers players, including Mason Crosby and Scott Wells, along with Packers Hall of Famer to-be Dorsey Levens, were added to the Packers Fan Fest lineup Thursday.

Other current Packers added to the lineup include James Jones and Jason Spitz. Other alumni scheduled to participate include Lynn Dickey, Jerry Kramer and Brian Noble.

The fifth annual event, which gathers Packers fans with their favorite past and present players, returns to the Lambeau Field Atrium March 13-14. On Friday, March 13, doors will open at 3 p.m., with a kickoff event at 4 p.m. and programming until 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 14, Fan Fest doors will open at 8:30 a.m., with programming from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Looking For Items to Update Popular Exhibit in Hall; Donation Days Set for Feb. 7-8

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. is putting out a call for fan memorabilia items to be used for updating an exhibit in the Hall of Fame at Lambeau Field.

The donated pieces will be used in the section of the Hall that displays a wide range of unique items, including personalized license plates, headwear, artwork and homemade banners and signs.

The display will be updated for Packers Fan Fest, the annual fan celebration set for March 13-14 in the Lambeau Field Atrium. Included as part of the weekend festivities for Fan Fest attendees is free admission to the Packers Hall of Fame.

The Green Bay Packers named 10 Community Quarterback Award winners Thursday and honored the recipients at a dinner in the Legends Club inside the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The recipients were recognized for their work in the community. Each Community Quarterback Award winner received a $2,000 grant for his/her non-profit group.

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in February again will celebrate Black History Month, a program in which the organization joins the annual celebration of the achievements and contributions African-Americans have made in American History.

Now in its third year, the Packers Hall of Fame's Black History Month has new features to offer, in addition to the panel discussion which has been a part of the first two offerings.

Let me begin by saying that I'm excited to be here and be a Packer. I feel much better about being here this time than the last time I was here. I've always believed when you go into a stadium you carry with you the feeling you had the last time you were there, and it wasn't a very good feeling when I left here back in '96 and we lost the championship game and Green Bay went on and won the Super Bowl. Hopefully we can get back there and have that same kind of feeling again. I'm excited about being a part of this organization. I've always had a tremendous amount of respect for the tradition, the fan support, and what Green Bay stands for. That was one of the things that influenced my decision to come here.

Capers Named Defensive Coordinator

The Green Bay Packers named Dom Capers their new defensive coordinator Monday. Head Coach Mike McCarthy made the announcement.

"Dom Capers is an excellent fit for the Green Bay Packers," Head Coach Mike McCarthy said. "His vision of playing defense and my vision of how we're going to move forward in Green Bay I would say is a big part of why I think he's an outstanding fit for our organization."

Capers comes to Green Bay with 38 seasons of coaching experience, including 23 seasons in the National Football League. He served as the head coach of two expansion franchises, first in Carolina (1995-98) and later in Houston (2001-05). Capers led the Panthers to the NFC Championship Game in 1996, just their second year of existence, and was honored with every major Coach of the Year award that season.

I'm here today just to talk about Dom Capers. We've agreed in principle with Dom and he will be our new defensive coordinator. I know a lot has happened since the last time we've spoken, so with that I'll take your questions.

(Can you take us through the process from Jan. 5, when you made the decision to relieve the defensive staff of its duties, through today?)
Number one, on a personal note, it was a very difficult decision. I have great respect for the coaching profession, the sacrifice the individuals make with their families, so it's something I put a lot of time and thought and gathered as much information as I could in making that decision. Really, what it came down to was I just didn't feel we were headed in the right direction on the defensive side of the ball. It was really an evaluation of our last three years. Packers Fans Called Upon To 'Click For Cans' With Team In Championship

Clicks Needed Through Jan. 22 to Defeat Buffalo, Earn Total of 18,000 Cans

Packers fans are being called upon to "click" their team to its seventh consecutive title in the annual Campbell's Chunky soup "Click for Cans" online food drive.

The Packers are matched up against the Buffalo Bills in the championship round. Voting runs through Jan. 22, with individuals able to vote once a day.

Fans are encouraged to vote online at www.clickforcans.com.

A victory and its 5,000 cans would earn the team a grand total of 18,000 cans of soup to be donated to Wisconsin hunger relief efforts. Thus far this season, the Packers have earned 13,000 cans: 1,000 cans automatically go to each team, and the Packers' win last week at the conference championship level garnered 12,000 cans.

Slocum Named Special Teams Coordinator; Fuller Joins Coaching Staff

The Green Bay Packers named Shawn Slocum their new special teams coordinator and hired Curtis Fuller as special teams assistant coach. Head Coach Mike McCarthy made the announcement Thursday.

"Shawn has made a significant impact in developing many of our core special teams players," McCarthy said. "Curtis is a young, up-and-coming coach who will be a positive addition to our staff."

Slocum served as the Packers' assistant special teams coach the past three seasons (2006-08). Prior to coming to Green Bay, Slocum coached 15 seasons at the college level for four different schools. He was the special teams coordinator at both the University of Southern California (1998-99) and Texas A&M (2000-02) and also served as the assistant head coach/linebackers at the University of Mississippi (2005).

Green Bay, January 13 - The Roundy's Foundation and the Green Bay Packers are taking a bite out of hunger thanks to their first ever Taste of NFL Event held this past fall at Lambeau Field. Today in Green Bay, the organizations gave $10,000 each to New Community Shelter, Inc. and the Salvation Army. On Thursday, they will hold a ceremony in Milwaukee to give another $10,000 each to St. Ben's Community Meal Program and St. Vincent de Paul Society's Community Meal Program.

The $40,000 in donations represents the proceeds raised in October 2008 at the Taste of NFL Event. Thirty-two young football enthusiasts from around the country will compete in the NFL PEPSI PUNT, PASS & KICK National Finals on January 10, prior to the NFC Divisional Playoff Game in Charlotte, North Carolina. A special on-field award presentation will air after the 3rd quarter of Saturday's game, which airs on FOX.

The Green Bay Packers' representative, Luke Weiss, from River Falls, Wis., is a contestant in the boys 14-15 division. It's a return appearance for Weiss, who competed as finalist in the 12-13 division in 2007.

Boys and girls will compete separately in four age divisions, with the top scorer in each group crowned national champion. The Green Bay Packers have released six assistant coaches, Head Coach Mike McCarthy announced Monday morning. Those released are Defensive Coordinator Bob Sanders, Defensive Ends Coach Carl Hairston, Defensive Tackles Coach Robert Nunn, Secondary Coach Kurt Schottenheimer, Defensive Nickel Package/Cornerbacks Coach Lionel Washington and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Rock Gullickson.

Special Teams Coordinator Mike Stock Announces Retirement

Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator Mike Stock has announced his retirement from professional coaching. This past season marked Stock's 44th year in coaching and his 18th at the professional level. He served as Packers' special teams coordinator each of the past three seasons (2006-08).

"I would like to thank Mike for all of his contributions over the past three years," Head Coach Mike McCarthy said. "The energy and passion he consistently displayed as a coach is something I've admired since we first worked together in Kansas City in 1995. Mike had a positive impact in developing many of the younger players on our roster, which we will continue to benefit from in coming seasons.
