GREEN BAY – Using their first-round pick on a cornerback was not the only help the Packers decided to provide for their secondary in this draft.

They added Appalachian State defensive back Shemar Jean-Charles with their second pick in the fifth round, No. 178 overall.

Jean-Charles (5-11, 190) received some All-America recognition from various media outlets in 2020, when he broke up 16 passes and intercepted one. He was named the Sun Belt Conference player of the year by Pro Football Focus.

A starter over the past two seasons, Jean-Charles played in 50 career collegiate games with 25 starts. In 2019, he broke up 10 passes and intercepted one as well.
