FREE EVENT TO INCLUDE LIVE TV SHOW, BAND & FIREWORKS

Due to popular demand for the Packers Playoff Pep Rally, set for Friday, Jan. 11, the organization announced Wednesday that an additional 5,000 tickets have been made available.

"The response has been remarkable," said Bill Hawker, Packers manager of corporate sales and member of the event committee. "We passed the 10,000 mark at about noon today, so we made more available. We've had strong pickup here in Green Bay, obviously, but Ticketmaster reports that fans from all over the state, and from out of state, have been ordering tickets, too.

"Game weekends traditionally have been an exciting time all over Green Bay, and I think Packers fans are looking forward to gathering together in Lambeau Field with more than 10,000 of their fellow fans to get ready for the playoff game."

The Playoff Pep Rally will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., Jan. 11, in Lambeau Field. The Packers will host a divisional playoff game the following day, Saturday, Jan. 12, at 3:30 p.m.

The free event will be centered in Lambeau Field's north end zone seating area. A stage will host a live band, as well as a special live TV program. Packers officials and alumni will participate. Concessions also will be open, serving food and beverage, as well as Packers Pro Shop merchandise. Other pep rally features include giveaways, including tickets to the Jan. 12 playoff game, an Ariens snow blower and autographed Packers memorabilia.

The evening will conclude with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

WFRV-TV will originate the special telecast from the event from 7 to 8 p.m. that will air live statewide on the Packers Television Network. Larry McCarren, Burke Griffin, Jessie Garcia and Lance Allan will host the program, which will feature a breakdown of the on-field match-up, as well as numerous guests.

In addition to WFRV in Green Bay, the network includes WTMJ/NBC, Milwaukee; WKOW/ABC, Madison, Wis.; WAOW/ABC, Wausau/Rhinelander, Wis.; WXOW/ABC, La Crosse, Wis.; WQOW/ABC, Eau Claire; WYOW/ABC, Eagle River, Wis.; WJMN/CBS, Marquette, Mich.

The Packers' flagship radio station, 620 WTMJ, will be on hand with a live remote.

Tickets are free and available in person at the Packers' ticket office and statewide through www.Ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone numbers. Tickets will not be available in person at Ticketmaster retail ticket centers. A limit of eight tickets per order has been established.
