Receives Weekend For Two In South Florida For NFL's Annual All-Star Game
Amanda Brunngraeber, from Rock, Mich., was randomly selected as the winner of the Packers' Pro Bowl package and will travel to South Florida, Jan. 29-31, with her husband, Carl, for a weekend of activities involving the NFL's annual All-Star game.
The Packers fans from Michigan's Upper Peninsula will be able to see the four Packers players scheduled to participate in the game: safety Nick Collins, linebacker Clay Matthews, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and cornerback Charles Woodson.
Amanda, 24, and, Carl, 26, are looking forward to the trip – their first to Florida together – and will drive to Green Bay from Rock, about 30 miles north of Escanaba, for their Friday morning flight.
The whirlwind planning began last Friday afternoon with a call from the Packers.
"It sounded almost too good to be true when I got the call," Amanda said. "I had to call my husband right away."
Carl, however, was in the middle of teaching his fifth-graders at Franklin Elementary School in Escanaba. Important news like this could not wait, though, and the call was made.
"He was in the middle of being observed by the principal, and she answered the phone when the office transferred it through. Carl got on the phone and I said, 'I won Pro Bowl tickets. Call me back. I know you're busy.'
"I knew he would be even more excited than I was. I rubbed it in a bit that I had won."
Goals for the weekend?
"Relaxation, maybe a trip to the beach…enjoy the Pro Bowl," she said.
The Pro Bowl package includes two tickets to the game at Dolphin Stadium, Jan. 31, two tickets to the NFL Pro Bowl Tailgate Party prior to the game, two VIP sideline access passes for pregame warm-ups, one hotel room for two people for a three-night stay, $250 in spending money and ground transfers from the hotel to the weekend NFL events via motor coach.
More than 17,000 entries were received on Packers.com for the chance to win the package.
