Brian Newell, grand prize winner of Ultimate Leap Sweepstakes, will perform leap at game Sunday

As the winner of the Ultimate Leap Sweepstakes, Brian Newell of Greenfield, Wis., will be making his Lambeau Leap this Sunday during the first half of the Green Bay Packers-Detroit Lions game. Kickoff for the contest is 3:25 p.m.

Newell was selected by the Packers, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Pick 'n Save from nine randomly selected finalists during an event at Lambeau Field on Dec. 16.

The event, the final phase of the sweepstakes, included a Lambeau Leap training, Q-and-A session and photograph opportunity with Packers tight end Richard Rodgers. Following the Lambeau Leap training, the finalists went on a stadium tour, which ended on the field where each finalist had the chance to show their best Lambeau Leap.

Newell's leap will be only the third time a fan has been given the chance to do so during a game. In addition to his leap into the stands, Newell also will receive four club seats to the game, four VIP sidelines passes, a game ball, a Packers jersey with Newell's name on the back and a one-night accommodation in Green Bay. All finalists received a jersey autographed by Rodgers.

The nine finalists were randomly selected from 35 semifinalists, who received gift cards to the Packers Pro Shop.

The other finalists were Pedro Pierri, Fox Point; Nate Chaltry, Appleton; Kyle Burlingame, Waukesha; Nikki Heyman, Waukesha; Jim Kurovsky, New Berlin; Grant Larscheid, Green Bay; Richard Phillips, Greenfield; and Kai Patrick, West Bend.
