Brown Attends Monday Night Practice

Although he has yet to be officially re-signed by the team, veteran nose guard Gilbert Brown attended the Green Bay Packers' Monday night workout at Lambeau Field.

Dressed in Packers athletic attire, Brown was simply an observer Monday, but his attendance marked his first practice appearance since the 2002 season.

According to GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman, getting Brown officially added to the roster is contingent upon Brown passing his physical.

"We have to be careful because obviously Gilbert hasn't been out here and we just want to make sure that he's ready before we do that," Sherman said. "But he'll be at practice tomorrow."

Brown is approaching his 10th NFL season, all of them with Green Bay.

Last season the 6-foot-2, 340-pounder started 11 games for the Packers, making 36 tackles.

Brown played 11 games in 2001 and made 33 tackles, after spending the entire 2000 season out of football as a free agent.
