After one week of training camp the Packers are still without veteran nose tackle Gilbert Brown, but probably not for much longer.
GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman said Sunday that he expects to have Brown re-signed by late tonight or early Monday.
"I think we're fairly close," Sherman said. "There are some things that have to be worked out."
A fan favorite in Green Bay, the 6-foot-2, 340-pound Brown would be approaching his 10th NFL season, all of them with the Packers.
In 2002, Brown played in 12 games and made 36 tackles.
