Vic, even before the Hail Mary, Richard Rodgers was having a career day. What was the difference?
The commitment the Packers made to Rodgers' development is the difference.

Until the league can come up with some sort of Stars Wars helmet, why not just add an inch of padding on the inside and about a quarter-inch thickness to the helmet shell for added protection? Certainly this will help absorb and disburse more impact energy and be a good interim fix.
At some point, the head will begin to droop from the weight of the helmet.

What's your opinion on the Lambeau Leap?
It's good clean fun.
Margo from Bloomington, IL
Vic, while I really appreciate you picking some of my questions to answer, I must confess I'm getting a little tired of the "I don't know, Margo" reply. My name really is Margo. The first time you referenced the movie, OK, kind of funny. The second time, OK, for everyone who didn't get it the first time. You picked my question again yesterday, thanks, but this is like the fourth time you've answered my question with "I don't know, Margo." I don't know, Vic, I thought you were cleverer than that.
You're one of the stars of my inbox, Margo.
Brian from Oswego, WI
I don't know, Margo! I loved it; been using that line for years. Anyways, I have been surprised at the weakness on the offensive line. Do you see this group getting a break (better health) and coming together?
I see no weakness. The offensive line, in my opinion, was the strength of this team through a troubled November. I see a bunch of guys playing hurt, and I see depth coming off the bench to help stem the tide.
Nic from Minneapolis, MN
For someone who criticizes people for jumping to conclusions, don't you think it's a bit premature to declare the offense as being on a roll? One pretty good half of offensive football doth not a turnaround make. The same systemic problems continue to exist; they just did a good job of overcoming them when it counted.
I know, Nic, and thanks for noticing.
James from New York, NY
Thanks a lot, Vic. You ruined a perfectly good inside joke by providing a link to the punchline. I laughed every time you answered one of Margo's questions and now the joke's over.
Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned football column. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm column emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest "Ask Vic Extra!" since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny Kaye. And when Santa squeezes down that chimney, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of readers this side of the nuthouse.
Don from Kansasville, WI
Vic, love your column; read it every night I can find it on packers.com. I read that you have other columns/articles. Where/how can I find them?
They're also on packers.com. We have a lot of good stuff on packers.com. Mike Spofford covers the team and provides fresh content every day. Larry McCarren provides expert analysis, and our video content continues to grow in volume and in style. I am intensely proud of packers.com and its growth, and that includes its readers, who provide what I consider to be the best and most responsible comments sections of any sports website I have ever read. Please forgive the mood. We're having our department Christmas party tonight, and I get like this at this time of the year.
