NFL personnel directors, scouts and medical teams will begin conducting medical examinations, psychological testing and player interviews on Thursday. All of that is critical information-gathering, as teams stack their draft boards for the April 28-30 NFL draft.
The entertainment portion of the scouting combine, the player workouts, begins on Friday when punters, kickers and special teams players work out at Lucas Oil Stadium. The real show begins on Saturday, when offensive linemen and tight ends work out. Sunday's workouts are a featured attraction: quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs. Monday will feature defensive linemen and linebackers and the scouting combine will conclude with Tuesday's defensive backs workouts.
Packers.com will be posting video interviews, news reports, blog material and special edition "Ask Vic" columns on Saturday and Sunday. Editor Vic Ketchman will cover the combine for packers.com.
