For his performance vs. the Chicago Bears, running back DeShawn Wynn was chosen as the Packers 'Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week.' The exhibit contains memorabilia from the game against the Bears, including a game ball autographed by Wynn.
The Hall of Fame's new weekly exhibit, 'The Hall of Fame Featured Player of the Week,' contains memorabilia from each week's game, including a game ball autographed by a featured player of the week.
Each Monday (or in the case of a Monday night game, Tuesday), new items from the previous day's game will be placed in the display to be viewed by visitors to the Hall. Included among the items will be the autographed game ball, which at the end of the week will be awarded randomly to a Hall of Fame visitor who signed up for the free raffle drawing.
The winners of game balls thus far have been Ernie Keppin Jr., Churton, Md. (Week 1, Mason Crosby), Ann Hammar, Ishpeming, Mich. (Week 2, Brett Favre) and Linda Hall, Milwaukee (Week 3, Greg Jennings).
Also in the exhibit will be the featured player's game jersey, as well as potentially other items such as a face mask, shoes, gloves and other equipment.
"We're excited to add this new exhibit to the Hall of Fame in the Today's Packers room," said Krissy Zegers, Packers Hall of Fame and Stadium Tours manager. "This new element will carry over some of the game's excitement through the week as fans gear up for the next game.
"The 'Featured Player of the Week' exhibit will be a great complement to the many excellent historical pieces in the Hall, and give our guests weekly exposure to this year's team."
The new exhibit continues through the season. Hall of Fame admission is required to see the exhibit, and upon purchasing a ticket for the Hall, each visitor will receive a raffle form to fill out. One raffle ticket will be distributed per each paid admission. Raffle winners will be selected at close of business Saturday and be notified on or before the following Monday.
The featured player will be selected after each game and will be indicated in game coverage on the team's Web site, packers.com. Packers.com also will feature a photo of the display at the beginning of each week.
