The Green Bay Packers Draft Party, set for April 29 at the Lambeau Field Atrium, will feature a new element this year: free wireless internet access.
The feature, provided by Time Warner Cable, will allow attendees who bring wireless-enabled laptops to log on to their favorite draft Web sites and follow the day's action online.
The Draft Party, running from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature ESPN and NFL Network draft coverage on two large television projection screens and the Packers' flagship radio station, Newsradio 620 WTMJ, will be on hand to provide coverage and analysis throughout the day as well.
The team also announced Ahman Green will join a player lineup that includes Aaron Rodgers, Nick Collins, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, Terrence Murphy and Kurt Campbell. Each will participate in a question-and-answer session on stage with WTMJ Radio as well as sign autographs. Upon entering, each attendee will receive a ticket for one randomly assigned autograph session.
In addition to following the draft, attendees will be able to take part in two new activities at this year's party: the "FanTastic Combine," a draft tryout event featuring a 20-yard dash, vertical jump and other activities for fans ages 5 and older, and a viewing and photo opportunity inside Lambeau Field.
Tickets for the event, priced at $25, are available at 18 Wisconsin Mills Fleet Farm locations and must be purchased in person. Children ages 3 and younger are free.
Packers Executive Vice President and General Manager Ted Thompson is scheduled to address fans in attendance after the team makes its first selection. Packers President/CEO Bob Harlan and Executive Vice President/COO John Jones will speak to fans prior to the start of the draft.
Other features of the day include:
- Commemorative 2006 NFL Draft mini-football for all attendees.
- Interactive games for kids and adults.
- Free door prizes, including autographed Packers items and Mills Fleet Farm gift cards.
- Packers Draft History Contest.
- Food and drink available for purchase at Curly's Pub, Hall of Fame Grill, Frozen in Time and Atrium eateries.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as a limited number are available due to the Lambeau Field Atrium's capacity.
