Brett Favre
Editor's Note: Enjoy the first installment of Brett Favre's diary. The Packers' quarterback discusses the quick start for his team, and what to expect from the NFC Central.
Hi fans! Thanks for checking in. This is my first journal entry for the season, and I'm not quite sure where to start. I had a great offseason, with plenty of golf and a healthy training camp. Now best of all, the Packers are off to a solid 3-0 start.
Everyone is looking good and playing at a very high level, really coming together as a team. The offense, behind one of the best offensive lines I've seen since playing in Green Bay, is opening holes for Ahman Green and giving me plenty of time in the pocket. Being able to run the ball effectively has really helped us out in the passing game as well. Our receivers are able to execute their routes and I have the time to get them the ball. Bubba Franks has really stepped up for us and is making plays when we need them.
I can't say enough about the play of our defense. They are the biggest reason for our 3-0 start. It's great having a healthy Gilbert Brown back with us. When you can anchor a defense with somebody like him in the middle, it opens things up for other guys to make plays.
We have a tough one this weekend. Going into Tampa Bay to play the Bucs. They are coming off a tough loss to the Vikings and are always ready to play us. The NFC Central is truly the Black and Blue Division of football.
On a personal note, everyone's lives have been touched by the recent events in New York and Washington. I won't say too much about that other than to please pray for the families that have been affected by this tragedy and to give in any way possible to the many charitable organizations that are helping out.
Thanks for checking in and I will be back next week.
