The Packers were No. 4 against the run not too long ago, and now they're at the bottom of the rankings. I work in IT and one of the first rules you learn is that if something was working and no longer isn't, you look at what changed. So I ask you, what changed?

Aaron Rodgers got hurt. Go figure.

How hard would it be to be interchangeable between the 3-4 and the 4-3, depending on the matchups?

I imagine it would be difficult to teach your players to execute two different base schemes, especially if they were having difficulty mastering one of them. Why would you want to do that? I don't get it. What am I missing here? I just don't see the thrill in switching defensive schemes.

Eighty degrees and sunny here today. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. Days like today make me glad I was able to trade the cold weather up there for the warm weather I have today. I don't have to scrape it off my windshield or shovel it. Are you happy with the weather swap you made?

Absolutely. You don't have to put your beer in the refrigerator here. You can leave it in the garage. If I had left my beer in my garage in Jacksonville, it would've either exploded or the skink would've drunk it.

If this season ends without a playoff berth, most of Wisconsin will feel a lot like Clark Griswold when he was given the jelly of the month club membership for his Christmas bonus.

I'm starting to feel like Aunt Bethany.

OK, we get it: Players, not plays. Now please tell us which players are underperforming, and what to watch for so we can identify those players ourselves.

You have to watch the tape and know what each player's assignment was before you can determine who didn't do their job. I don't know what their assignments are and I'm not qualified to determine which ones are underperforming. Clearly, somebody is underperforming, however, and in time we'll know who they are because the Packers will tell us. It's a performance business. Those who don't perform lose their jobs.

What team will test the Seahawks this year?

The 49ers will test them.

Tom from San Ramon, CA

Vic, I coach high school football and have for 20 years. Tackling is 10 percent technique and 90 percent desire. It really is that simple.

You bet it is. If you hit a guy hard enough to blow 'em up, he won't get many yards after contact. The ones that want to hit are the best tacklers. First comes that, then comes technique.

Three years ago, when the Packers lost to the Falcons in a thriller and then shredded them in the playoffs, I thought this was going to turn into a decade-long rivalry. Then two things that can't happen did happen. One lost "The Man" and the other one got old. How quickly things can change.

In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again. By the way, don't forget "Ask Vic Halftime" this Sunday.
