TWO NEW HAUNTED HOUSES FEATURED; FREE EVENT OPEN TO AREA YOUTH; HALL OF FAME TO FEATURE SPECIAL CHILDREN'S PRICING OCT. 21-NOV.5
The Green Bay Packers will host the fourth annual Halloween-themed event, 'Spooktacular Fun,' Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Lambeau Field Atrium, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Two new haunted houses headline this year's event, one for younger ghouls in mind and a second, the Haunted Concourse, designed for teens with a PG-13 rating. The Haunted Concourse will be set in a darkened Lambeau Field concourse and features seven scenes of high-tech shocks and horrors. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a guardian into the Haunted Concourse and children under the age of 8 will not be permitted entrance to the Haunted Concourse. Hours for the haunted houses are 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
In addition, the day again features interactive and entertaining activities, including sing-along music, magic, miming, stilt walkers and a juggler.
"We're very excited about adding the haunted houses to this year's 'Spooktacular Fun,' " said Cathy Dworak, the Packers' manager of community relations. "The teenagers especially will enjoy the high-tech Haunted Concourse. It will be a great complement to our event that has a lot of thrills for the younger kids and families."
A main stage will host a variety of entertainment throughout the day, and roaming entertainers will make their way around the Atrium. Children also will have the opportunity to have their faces painted and will receive a special Halloween giveaway at the door. Guests are welcome to enter through Miller Brewing Company Gate or the Oneida Nation Gate.
In a related offering, the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame will offer special half-priced admission for children (ages 6 to 11) from Oct. 21 through Nov. 5. The special rate, $2.50, is only available for individual, on-site sales.
'Spooktacular Fun' is one in a series of free community events held each year by the Packers. Other events include an ecumenical Thanksgiving Day meal for area needy families, 'Project LEAP,' and 'Summer Traditions at Lambeau Field.'
