Goodman Adds Two Touchdowns As NFLEL Postseason Draws Near

As the third leading rusher in the NFLEL, running back Herbert Goodman rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns in the Scottish Claymores' 31-23 loss to the Berlin Thunder last weekend. Goodman has totaled 631 yards on 156 carries in eight weeks.

Also in the Claymores' loss, cornerback Hurley Tarver started for Scotland and posted two tackles against Berlin.

Linebacker Paris Lenon started for the Amsterdam Admirals and registered four tackles and one pass defensed in the 20-13 loss to Frankfurt. Defensive tackle John Gilmore saw action with the Admirals after missing two games due to a hand injury. With their sixth straight loss, Amsterdam is

eliminated from World Bowl contention. Running back Joey Dozier started this past weekend for the Galaxy, their sixth win of the season.

Offensive lineman Tim Stuber started for F.C. Barcelona in the 24-21 loss to Rhein and guard Ed Kehl (Rhein) remains on injured reserve due to a knee injury.

WORLD BOWL OUTLOOK

Rhein Fire (6-2): Needs one more win or one Scotland loss.

Frankfurt Galaxy (6-2): Needs one more win or one loss by Berlin. Can also qualify if they lose both remaining games and Berlin wins both remaining games, as long as Berlin's win in Week 10 is by less than three points.

Berlin Thunder (4-4): Needs to win both remaining games, including a Week 10 win by at least four points, and have Rhein defeat Frankfurt in Week 9.

Scottish Claymores (4-4): Needs to win final two games and Rhein lose its final two games.

Barcelona Dragons (2-6): Eliminated from World Bowl contention.

Amsterdam Admirals (2-6): Eliminated from World Bowl contention.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offense: QB, Todd Husak, Berlin (Denver Broncos) - completed 20 pf 33 passes for 206 yards, 2 TD, no interceptions against Scotland.

Defense: Chris Cummings, Frankfurt - 32-yard interception for a touchdown, 2 tackles, 2 stops against Rhein.

Special Teams: KR, Corey Alston, Rhein (New York Jets) - 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, 9-yard touchdown reception against Frankfurt.

National: DB, Lelan Brickus, Berlin - 22-yard punt return for a touchdown, one interception and 5 tackles against Scotland.

A CLOSE SHAVE

The Scottish Claymores are aiming to become the scruffiest side to ever reach the World Bowl after a pact between their quarterbacks and wide receivers. The Claymores have their hearts set on a place at World Bowl X in Dusseldorf on June 22 - and have agreed not to shave until they get there.

TELEVISION COVERAGE

DirecTV will broadcast two games per weekend, FOX Sports Net will televise a "Game of the Week" all season followed by World Bowl X on June 22. Current and former NFL players will be in the broadcast booth throughout the season.
