GREEN BAY – The Packers will kick off their 2022 home schedule at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.
Green Bay hosts against Chicago on Sept. 18 at 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC. The Week 2 matchup extends the archrivals' 17-year streak of facing off in primetime action.
The NFL also announced the Packers will open the regular season in Minnesota (3:25 p.m. CT on Sept. 11), before traveling to Tampa Bay for the Buccaneers' home opener at Raymond James Stadium (3:25 p.m. CT on Sept. 25).
It's the 23rd time the Packers have been paired against the Bears for their home opener, with the most recent being Green Bay's dramatic come-from-behind win over Chicago, 24-23, in 2018, also on Sunday Night Football.
Of those 23 meetings, this will be only the third time in team history the Packers open Lambeau Field against the Bears in Week 2. It previously occurred in 2004 and 1948.
Green Bay has yet to lose to the Bears under head coach Matt LaFleur, who is 6-0 against Chicago during his three seasons at the helm.
It's the second time in three years the Packers have made the trip to U.S. Bank Stadium for a regular-season opener. Prior to 2020, however, Green Bay had never opened a regular season on the road against the Vikings.
The Week 3 matchup against the Buccaneers is slated to be just the fifth meeting between future first-ballot of Hall of Fame quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.
The full Packers' 2022 schedule will officially be announced Thursday evening. Stay tuned to packers.com for more updates, stories and videos.
