GREEN BAY -- Vikings Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook has been ruled out of Monday night's game with the Packers due to a chest injury.
That's the most significant news on the final injury report released Saturday after both teams finished their final practices for the week.
Cook left last week's Minnesota victory over the Chargers with the injury, did not return, and did not practice all week. He has 1,135 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs this season, along with 519 receiving yards on 53 receptions.
Cook's top backup, rookie RB Alexander Mattison, is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury. Mattison was injured two weeks ago in the Vikings' win over Detroit, missed last week's game, and returned to practice for the first time Saturday on a limited basis.
The Green Bay Packers practiced inside the Don Hutson Center on Saturday, Dec. 21, in preparation for their Week 16 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
If Mattison also cannot play, Minnesota's top running back would be second-year pro Mike Boone, who rushed for two TDs last week in Los Angeles. Boone has 21 carries for 97 yards on the season, with 13 attempts for 56 yards coming last week.
For the Packers, the only player ruled out is backup offensive lineman Yosh Nijman, who was added to the injury report on Friday due to elbow and triceps injuries. DL Dean Lowry is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, though Lowry was upgraded to a full participant in practice on Saturday after being limited earlier in the week.
Everyone else on the injury report for both teams has been removed and is expected to be available.
