GREEN BAY -- With the offseason officially underway for all 32 NFL teams, including the Packers, here's a list of key dates to keep in mind over the coming months.
Feb. 15: This is the first day teams can place franchise or transition tags on potential free agents. The deadline to designate a player with a tag, should a team decide to do so, is March 1.
Feb. 28-March 6: The NFL Scouting Combine takes place in Indianapolis.
March 7-9: Teams are permitted to contact and begin negotiating with free agents from other teams, but contracts cannot be signed until free agency officially begins at 3 p.m. CT on March 9.
March 9: The new league year, and free agency, officially begin.
March 26-29: The league's owners will gather for their annual meeting in Phoenix. Rules changes will be discussed and potentially approved, and compensatory draft picks will be announced.
April 4-8: Packers Tailgate Tour makes multiple stops in northern Wisconsin and Michigan's upper peninsula.
Mid-April (TBA): The 2017 NFL schedule will be released.
April 17: Offseason workout programs begin.
April 21: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets.
April 26: Deadline for teams to exercise right of first refusal on restricted free agents.
April 27-29: The 2017 NFL Draft will take place, beginning with the first round on the night of April 27. Rounds 2-3 will be April 28, and rounds 4-7 will be April 29.
May-June: Rookie minicamp, OTAs, and mandatory minicamp (all TBA).
