In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Super Bowl I, the Green Bay Packers will honor several alumni who played against Kansas City in Super Bowl I at the Packers-Chiefs Monday Night Football matchup.
The alumni will be introduced from the field during halftime, and prior to kickoff, the captains from Super Bowl I, Willie Davis and Bob Skoronski, will join the current team captains for the coin toss.
With Monday's game starting at 7:30 p.m. on a weekday, the Packers and WisDOT are also reminding fans that there will be increased traffic volume from commuter traffic in addition to gameday traffic. Those heading to Lambeau Field on Monday are advised to allow additional time to reach their destination and exercise caution, especially near the I-41 Project construction zones.
During pregame activities, Jim Taylor and Willie Davis each will be presented on the field with a Pro Football Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence. Also prior to kickoff, the Packers will be recognizing Elvita Erdmann, Hispanic coordinator and sexual assault crisis counselor at Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, with the Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award.
In addition to the Super Bowl I alumni, two featured alumni are scheduled to make appearances throughout the weekend; Brian Williamsand Doug Evanswill be taking part in fan activities at the Lambeau Field Atrium, Tundra Tailgate Zone and Legends Club leading up to kickoff.
Along the Fan Walkway on the stadium's east side, as well as in the Atrium, fans can participate in Associated Bank's Touchdown Central fan challenge, an interactive zone and football toss that features images of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb acting as receivers, followed by a touchdown celebration photo opportunity featuring both players, along with Davante Adams. By sharing photos taken at the fan challenge on social media with the hashtag #ABTDCentral, fans can be entered into a sweepstakes to win autographed home-game jerseys.
The Packers and Arise Health Plan will be recognizing Sgt. 1st Class Tyler Crane and his family through Operation Fan Mailon the field prior to the national anthem. Amanda Vernon, a Christian recording artist from Grand Rapids, Mich., will perform the national anthem on the keyboard.
During halftime, the High School Quarterback Challenge competition on the field will feature players from Green Bay East High SchoolandGreen Bay West High School.
Fans at Monday's game can use free, enhanced Wi-Fi service by connecting to the "LambeauField" Wi-Fi network through the settings on their mobile devices. Those with cell service through Verizon Wireless can connect to Verizon's own Wi-Fi network in the stadium and enjoy enhanced coverage. For those having difficulty connecting, Wi-Fi coaches in yellow shirts will be stationed in the concourses and club level to assist guests.
The free Green Bay Metro gameday bus service is available for fans to utilize before and after the game until 1:30 a.m., with extended service to several areas of Green Bay. Further details and gameday route information is available at greenbaymetro.org/en-us/packers/default.aspx.
Also taking place at the game is the premier gameday tailgate party in the Tundra Tailgate Zone (TTZ) in the Lambeau Field parking lot. The TTZ is open to all fans, even those without tickets to the game, and features live bands, alumni autographs and food and beverages. Game attendees can also stop by the Fan Walkway for a variety of gameday activities, including interactive displays.
Fans will receive posters featuring the Super Bowl I team and the current Packers team,compliments of Kohl's, as the game giveaway.
