Lambeau Field is ready for Saturday's noon game between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. The contest, the Packers' final home game of the regular season, will serve as the Fan Appreciation Game, with extra game giveaways and special promotions to thank the fans for their support during the season.
Due to the game taking place on Christmas Eve, the Lambeau Field Atrium, including the Packers Pro Shop, 1919 Kitchen & Tap and guest services will close at 4 p.m. The Tundra Tailgate Zone will close one hour after the end of the game.
During halftime, Chevrolet, the official vehicle of the Green Bay Packers and the sponsor of Saturday's game, will choose one lucky fan to win a brand new Chevrolet vehicle through an on-field contest. The contest winner will be among a group of six preselected Chevrolet sweepstakes finalists.
Additional giveaways for fans will include a cabin for two aboard the Packers Legends Cruise, a Chula Vista getaway, Ariens Sno-thros and Kohl's Gift Cards.
Saturday's game tickets feature a photograph from Staci Abel of Pray, Mont., the winner of the "Packers Ticket Takeover Contest, sponsored by American Family Insurance." Abel's photo features her 4-year-old twin sons, Desmond and Christian, dressed in Packers jerseys with their arms around each other's shoulders. The Abel family also will attend Saturday's game together.
The Packers on Saturday are teaming up with Mills Fleet Farm to help fans stay warm by distributing 60,000 hand warmers to fans with tickets in outdoor seating areas attending the game. One package, containing two individual hand warmers, will be distributed at stadium entrances to fans entering the game. Distribution will be limited to one pack per ticket holder and fans sitting inside are asked to refrain from taking the hand warmers so that fans sitting outside may use them.
Bellin Health is also providing tips to fans battling cold weather:
- Dress appropriately: Hypothermia and frostbite can occur even without subzero temperatures. Wear loose, dry layers, but don't overdress. Give yourself the opportunity to shed layers to adjust to weather changes. Try a mix of cotton or wool underneath, with something waterproof on top. Be sure to wear a hat and mittens, as well as comfortable, waterproof, insulated boots.
- Drink warm beverages, and as always, drink alcoholic beverages in moderation. Alcohol prevents the body from generating heat and can cause dehydration, which leaves one more susceptible to cold weather. In addition, watch for warning signs of hypothermia, such as severe shivering, dizziness, drowsiness and confusion. Learn the signs of frostbite and seek medical attention immediately if you notice grayish, white or yellowed skin, pain or numbness, or waxy skin.
Two featured alumni are scheduled to make appearances Saturday; William Hendersonand Bryce Paupwill be taking part in fan activities at the Tundra Tailgate Zone and Legends Club, respectively, leading up to kickoff.
In addition, the Packers and WPS Health Solutions will be recognizing U.S. Air Force senior airman James Germanand his family through Operation Fan Mail on-field prior to the national anthem. Opera singer and Green Bay native Scott Ramsay* *will perform the national anthem.
Saturday's pregame festivities will also honor Meghan Morgan of Pulaski, Wis., as the Shopko Kick-off Kid. She is being honored in the Shopko Kids Making a Difference program for helping students in the special education classroom and inspiring her peers to build relationships with children with special needs. At halftime, the High School Quarterback Challenge, presented by HPE and Camera Corner, will feature players fromSeymour High SchoolandXavier High Schoolin an on-field competition. Additionally, three local choirs from Notre Dame Academy and Pulaski and Preble High Schoolswill sing at selected gates as fans enter the stadium and also perform a holiday song at halftime.* *
A car flag, compliments of Chevrolet, will be distributed to fans as the giveaway item at the game.
