Lambeau Field is ready to honor veterans and military members at Sunday afternoon's game between the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts, in conjunction with the NFL-wide Salute to Service recognition of Veteran's Day.
Many activities both on and off the field on Sunday will be dedicated to showing appreciation to the U.S. Military. On the field, each player will wear and use newly designed equipment that features the NFL Salute to Service camo-ribbon decal. The stadium will also feature camouflage Salute to Service goal post wraps, banners and pylon decals. These game-used items will be auctioned off at NFLauction.nfl.com, with proceeds benefitting the league's core military non-profit partners.
In the Lambeau Field Atrium, fans will have the opportunity to sign and send a holiday card to a service member with the help of the American Red Cross as a part of their annual Holiday Mail for Heroesprogram. A card signing station will be open from 11:25 a.m. until halftime in the Atrium. Red Cross volunteers will deliver the cards throughout the holiday season to service members, veterans and their families across the world and around the country.
Additionally on Sunday, the Packers and Sargento Touchdowns for Charities will also be holding a non-perishable food drive along the fan walkway near the Tundra Tailgate Zone prior to the game. Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items or make monetary contributions that will benefit Paul's Pantry in Green Bay and the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee. Packers Hall of Famer Ahman Green will be on-site during the drive, signing autographs and taking photos for contributing fans from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The organization also is reminding game attendees to allow plenty of time to enter the stadium gates prior to the game and to enter at the gate listed on their tickets. All fans entering Lambeau Field on gameday will use walk-through metal detectors, a league-wide mandate for use at all NFL stadium gates. The most efficient way through the detectors will be via express lanes at each gate for fans entering the stadium without any bags or stadium seats.
As in previous years, no bags or purses will be allowed inside Lambeau Field unless they are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and are no larger than 12" by 6" by 12". Small clutches that do not exceed 4.5" by 6.5" are permitted. Stadium cushions are also not allowed, however, stadium seats and stadium pads that contain no pockets or zippers and are 18" wide or smaller are allowed. Two featured alumni are scheduled to make appearances Sunday; Andre Risonand Travis Jerveywill be taking part in fan activities at the Tundra Tailgate Zone and Legends Club, respectively, leading up to kickoff.
In addition, the Packers and WPS Health Solutions will be recognizing U.S. Army staff sergeant Walter Grochowinaand his family through Operation Fan Mail on-field prior to the national anthem.
The University of Wisconsin marching band will perform the national anthem, and will also take the field for a performance at halftime, as well as the Fifth Quarter at the end of the game. A flyover will be performed by two F-16 fighter jets, supported by the Wisconsin Air National Guard, the 115th Fighter Wing based out of Madison.
Sunday's pregame festivities will also honor Aubree Lane Leitermann from Kimberly, Wis., as the Shopko Kick-off Kid. Aubree is being honored in the Shopko Kids Making a Difference program for founding Aubree's Blankets for Veterans, which provides blankets to veterans on medical flights. Also at halftime, the High School Quarterback Challenge, presented by HPE and Camera Corner, will feature players fromWilmot Union High SchoolandUnion Grove High Schoolin an on-field competition.
All fans, even those without game tickets, can attend the premier gameday tailgate party in the Tundra Tailgate Zone (TTZ) in the Lambeau Field parking lot, featuring live bands, alumni autographs and food and beverages.
