Concession Stands Feature Credit Card Payment, New Kids Offerings; Mobile Phone Text Option Added to Fan Code of Conduct Program
Fans attending the season's first game Saturday night to see the Packers take on the Cleveland Browns also will notice some new features inside Lambeau Field to enhance their experience.
At all permanent concession stands, fans now have the option to pay with credit cards. Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express will be accepted. Portable stands in the concourses do not have the credit card option due to their locations.
For younger fans attending games, two new concession stands named "Packers Mini Camp" will offer value-priced kids' selections such as hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, nachos, chocolate and regular milk, and candy treats. The "Packers Mini Camp" concession stands are located in the lower concourse at Section 105 and in the upper concourse at Section 312. Also new this year is a healthy kids' package meal, the "Packers Junior Power Pack," priced at $7.50 with a half-sized turkey club wrap, string cheese, fruit-flavored snack, sugar-free Kool Aid mix and water that comes in a souvenir gold Packers-themed lunch box. An adult version, the "Packers Power Pack" is a similarly healthy meal option with a full-sized wrap, fresh fruit and yogurt in a green souvenir lunch box is priced at $10. The kids' lunch boxes will be available at the Mini Camp stands and other select locations throughout the stadium, with the adult boxes at select locations as well.
"We're always looking for new ways to make the fan experience even better here at Lambeau Field," said Laura Sankey, Packers senior vice president of marketing and sales. "These were two areas in which we've received feedback the past couple of years and we're excited to be able to offer them this season. The convenience of credit cards will allow for quicker trips to the concession stands, and the new kids' menu items will give parents more options for our younger fans at the games."
Also new for 2009, the fan code of conduct has been enhanced with an option for fans to use their mobile phones to alert security via text message to behavior that detracts from a positive gameday experience.
The numbers will be visible throughout the stadium, including on signage in the stadium bowl and at all concession stands. Announcements also will be made in-stadium. Fans are instructed to send the word "FLAG" and the conduct violation and stadium location to the number posted in the stadium.
The fan code of conduct is designed to set clear expectations for fans and encourage a stadium environment that is enjoyable for all game attendees. Signage detailing the fan code of conduct is posted in stadium parking lots, at concessions and in the concourses, and announcements are made in-stadium. Unruly behavior may include fighting, taunting, or any action that may harm or endanger others in the stadium, intoxication or other signs of alcohol impairment that results in irresponsible behavior, abusive or foul language and obscene actions, and other actions deemed beyond the bound of reason for a spectator at Lambeau Field.
"We are pleased to offer an additional way for fans to alert our staff to behavior that takes away from a great gameday experience at Lambeau Field," said Sankey. "Fans responded well last season when we encouraged them to report bad behavior to stadium personnel, and this is an extension of that process. We encourage fans to continue to let us know about those situations immediately and help keep such disturbances to a minimum."
