Soggy field conditions kept the Green Bay Packers indoors today as the team completed its mini-camp workouts inside the Don Hutson Center.
The team began practice with special teams drills. Receivers Karsten Bailey, Antonio Chatman, Carl Ford, and DeAndrew Rubin each split time returning punts while others worked on punt return blocking drills.
In 2-on-1 punt drills, the return players got the opportunity to show off a few moves, attempting to weave in and out of the two pursuing defenders. Receiver Donald Driver couldn't resist the temptation of playing on the cover team as Bailey returned a kick. But Bailey got the best of Driver with a couple of cut-back moves that left Driver facing the wrong direction. The defensive line, looking on while taking a break from their own drills, cheered Bailey for his nifty footwork.
Moving on to red zone work, quarterback Brett Favre found tight end Bubba Franks in the middle of the endzone for a 12-yard touchdown reception.
In two-minute drills, Favre relied heavily on his tight ends before tracking down Diver with a 25-yard touchdown pass on the right sideline of the end zone.
Doug Pederson, however, was not so fortunate as his first pass of the two-minute session was picked off by safety Darren Sharper.
Following two-minute drills, most veterans were excused from practice while rookies and some selected veterans continued their workout.
In that time, the offensive and defensive lines worked separately while quarterbacks Eric Crouch and Zak Kustok shared snaps in 7-on-7 action.
The Packers' next on-field action will be in mid-July, when the team reconvenes for training camp.
