NFL Europe Week 8 Preview

!

Week 8 will kickoff earlier than usual when the Scottish Claymores (1-6) and the Amsterdam Admirals (3-4) face off, Friday.

With no hopes of reaching the World Bowl for either team, Friday's match-up features two teams playing for pride.

The Admirals will look to post its first winning season since 1998, while the Claymores hope to play the role of spoiler as they continue to search for their second victory of the season.

Packers tight end Tony Donald leads the Admirals in scoring with four touchdowns on the season.

The game will be broadcast live at 1 p.m. CT on DirecTV, with a tape delay airing at 7 p.m. CT on NFL Network.

Fans could get a preview of World Bowl XII, Saturday, when the Berlin Thunder (6-1) travel to Frankfurt to face the Galaxy (6-1) for the first of at least two meetings this season.

Berlin became the first team in NFL-E history to clinch a World Bowl berth as early as Week 7, while the Galaxy can claim the other spot in the league's championship game with one more victory.

Overall, Frankfurt has a 6-4 advantage in the series, but the Thunder won the last meeting between the two teams, 27-14, in Week 10 last season.

Packers safety Darren Sharper will make his second appearance as an analyst for NFL Network when the game is broadcast live at noon CT, with a tape delay airing at 7 p.m. CT on NFL Network.

The Rhein Fire (3-4) will look to stay in contention for the World Bowl when they travel to Cologne to face the Centurions (2-5), Sunday.

Rhein handed Cologne a loss in Week 1, 26-25. It was the Centurions' first game in franchise history.

Despite the losing record, the Centurions have since put together the league's top ranked overall offense and defense, but the Fire will look to take advantage of the Centurions' shortcomings in the turnover category, where Cologne holds a minus-8 margin, including nine turnovers in the last two games.

The Fire, meanwhile, can claim the final spot in the championship game if they win their remaining three games and Frankfurt loses three straight.

The game will be broadcast on FOX at 1 p.m. CT.
