GREEN BAY – No decision has been made yet on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' playing status for Sunday, and it might not be made until the morning of the game against the Vikings.
"Nothing's changed," Head Coach Mike McCarthy said on Friday. "He's clearly day to day. Hopefully he'll do work tomorrow, but I can't answer that question."
The Packers have one more practice on Saturday in preparation for the game. McCarthy said he didn't need to see Rodgers in that practice in order for him to play. The decision will be based almost entirely on how his left knee is doing.
"He feels better than he did at the beginning of the week," McCarthy said. "Tomorrow's practice will be a big indicator.
"He can play with no reps. We've established that point some time ago in his career. You'd like to walk off the field Saturday and have your plan set, but this is the NFL. Things happen. We'll be ready for anything. I know he wants to play. We'll see how it goes."
As for any potential long-term concerns with Rodgers' knee injury, McCarthy sounded optimistic.
"I'm hopeful that in time, whatever that time frame is, it can clear up," he said.
Regarding other injured players, McCarthy said receiver Davante Adams (shoulder) seemed to come through Thursday's practice OK. He also wants to see rookie linebacker Oren Burks (shoulder) get some more practice work in on Saturday.
