The Green Bay Packers fell just short of the postseason with an 8-9 record, marking just the fifth losing season in Green Bay in the last 30 seasons. 

  • Green Bay reached 790 regular-season victories, the most in the history of the NFL.
  • The Packers played in nine one-score games, finishing with a 4-5 record in those contests. 
  • Green Bay ended up playing six prime-time games this season after being flexed to Sunday Night in Week 18. It tied the Los Angeles Chargers for the most in the league for the 2022 season.
  • The Packers played seven games against 2021 playoff teams and five contests versus division winners from last year. 
  • Green Bay played eight games against teams that made the playoffs this season, including four contests against teams that won their division.
  • The Packers finished 4-4 in games against 2022 playoff teams and were 2-3 in games against teams that finished with 12-plus wins this season.
  • Of the Packers' 14 opponents, 10 finished the 2022 season with eight-plus wins.
  • Green Bay opened the season with a loss at Minnesota, but rebounded with a win in the home opener against Chicago. The victory was Green Bay's 13th straight win in prime time, which marked the longest regular-season streak in the NFL since 2000. It also was the Packers' 10th consecutive win in a home opener (2013-22).
  • The Packers beat the Buccaneers, 14-12, in Week 3, the first 14-12 victory in team history. It also was only the fourth time Green Bay won a game with Aaron Rodgers as the starting QB when scoring 14 or fewer points (9-0 win at Jets in 2010 / 10-3 win vs. Bears in 2010 / 10-3 win at Bears in 2019).
  • The Packers beat the Patriots, 27-24, in overtime in Week 4 at Lambeau Field. It was Green Bay's 15th straight regular-season win at home, the third-longest home winning streak in team history (25 from 1995-98; 20 from 1929-32). The Packers became the fourth NFL franchise since 2000 to win at least 15 consecutive regular-season home games (New England, Baltimore, St. Louis Rams).
  • In Week 5, Green Bay became the 32nd NFL team to play in London since 2007. The Packers came up short to the New York Giants in what was the first London matchup between two teams with winning records.
  • The overseas trip started what was a five-game losing streak for Green Bay, with four of the five losses coming away from Lambeau Field. 
  • The Packers snapped the streak with a win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10, which was former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy's first game back at Lambeau Field. It was Green Bay's second win in overtime on the season, tied for the second most in a season by Green Bay since 2000 behind only three wins in 2017.
  • The Packers would lose to Tennessee on a short week and fall on the road to Philadelphia in Week 12.
  • The Packers traveled to Chicago for a nine-point win in Week 13, marking eight straight wins against the Bears, Green Bay's longest winning streak vs. Chicago since a seven-gamer in 2000-03 and tied for the second longest behind only a 10-game winning streak vs. the Bears from 1994-98. The victory also gave Green Bay the most regular-season wins in the history of the NFL. It marked the first time since December 1921 (Buffalo All-Americans) that the Bears franchise did not lead the NFL or have a share of the lead in all-time regular-season wins. 
  • After the latest bye (Week 14) ever for Green Bay, the Packers beat the Los Angles Rams at home, marking Green Bay's sixth straight win on Monday Night Football, the longest streak in team history.
  • For the second straight year and the fourth time in franchise history, the Packers played on Christmas. It was at Miami, marking the first time Green Bay played on the road on the holiday. 
  • The Packers came back from 10 points down to beat the Dolphins, marking the first time the Packers had three double-digit comebacks in a six-game span in the same season (10 points at Chicago / 14 points vs. Dallas). It was also the first time Green Bay came back from double-digit deficits in back-to-back road games (Weeks 13 and 16) since Nov. 11-18, 1990.
  • The Packers' three double-digit comeback wins this year tied for the most in a single season in franchise history (2017, 2002, 1990).
  • Green Bay recorded a fourth straight win with a 41-17 victory over the Vikings. It was the Packers' 10th straight win at Lambeau Field in December/January, the longest in those months by Green Bay since a 13-game winning streak in 2008-13.
  • The Packers finished the season at home with a four-point loss to the Lions.

A LOOK BACK AT THE 2022 SCHEDULE

The Green Bay Packers' 2022 NFL schedule featured 17 regular-season games and three preseason games. It was highlighted by five prime-time contests (subject to flexible scheduling) on the original schedule for the ninth straight year (2014-22). Green Bay ended up playing six prime-time games after being flexed to Sunday Night in Week 18. It tied with the Los Angeles Chargers for the most in the league for the 2022 season.

  • With the three-game preseason schedule implemented before the 2021 season, the Packers will alternate between hosting one and two preseason games each year. In 2022, the Packers hosted only one preseason game and it was designated as the Packers Give Back Game, with a benefiting charity to be highlighted through the game and surrounding activities.
  • The Packers opened the season at the Minnesota Vikings, marking the fourth straight year and the eighth time in the last 10 seasons that Green Bay has started the season on the road. It was also just the second time ever that Green Bay played at Minnesota in Week 1 (2020). 
  • Week 2 bought a division opponent at home for the fifth consecutive season when the Packers and Chicago Bears faced off. The game was played on Sunday night, marking the second straight year the home opener was in prime time and the 17th consecutive regular season that the Packers and Bears squared off in a prime-time game. 
  • It was the third time in the last four seasons that Green Bay has opened up with two division opponents (2019-20).
  • The Packers went back on the road in Week 3 as they traveled to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, marking the third straight year that Green Bay opened the season with two of the first three games on the road. 
  • Week 4 brought the Packers back to Lambeau Field for a matchup with the New England Patriots. Green Bay won the game, giving them their second straight victory over the Patriots at Lambeau Field (2014).
  • For the first time in franchise history, Green Bay traveled to London, where it faced off against the New York Giants in Week 5. While it is the first regular-season game outside of the country for the Packers, it was the sixth game overall that Green Bay played outside the United States. Previously, The Packers played internationally during the preseason on three occasions: in Toronto in 1997, Tokyo in 1998 and Winnipeg in 2019; and on Christmas Day in 1932 and on New Year's Day in 1933 the Packers played two games as part of a team-sanctioned barnstorming trip to Hawa'ii to play two local teams, which at the time was a territory of the United States.
  • The Packers returned to the states to host the New York Jets in Week 6. It marked the first time since 2010 that Green Bay played both New York teams in the same season.
  • The Packers finished October and started November with three straight road games, marking just the third time this century (2012 and 2016) that Green Bay plays three straight contests on the road. The Packers traveled to play the Washington Commanders in Week 7, then the Buffalo Bills in Week 8 and the Detroit Lions in Week 9. The Week 8 matchup was the first prime-time game between the Packers and Bills. 
  • Green Bay returned to Lambeau for back-to-back home games in Weeks 10-11, first hosting the Dallas Cowboys and then playing on Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans. It was the first time Green Bay played an AFC opponent in a Thursday night contest.
  • Weeks 12 and 13 ended a run of a five road trips in seven games. 
  • The Packers first went east to play the Philadelphia Eagles in the first Sunday night matchup between the two teams and then traveled to Chicago to take on the Bears.
  • For the first time since 2014, Green Bay entered its bye (Week 14) after a road game. It was the latest bye ever for Green Bay, and it was just the fifth time since 1990 that the Packers have had a bye in Week 10 or later (Week 13 in 2021, Week 11 in 2019, Week 10 in 2012 and 2010).
  • Green Bay ended the regular season with three of its last four at home for the first time since 2011. 
  • In Week 15, the Packers hosted the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football, marking the latest MNF contest ever at Lambeau Field. 
  • For the second straight year and for the fourth time in franchise history, the Packers played on Christmas. It was the first time Green Bay played on the road on the holiday, as it traveled to Florida to face the Miami Dolphins.
  • The Packers finished the regular season the same way they started it, against two division opponents. Green Bay will ended the regular season with back-to-back NFC North games for the fifth time in the last seven seasons. It was the first time ever that Green Bay played two regular-season home games in January. 
  • In Week 17, the Minnesota Vikings came to town and the regular season ended with a visit from the Detroit Lions in Week 18.

ALL-NFL, ALL-NFC & ALL-ROOKIE

  • Nixon was named to the All-NFL and All-NFC teams by the Pro Footbal Writers of America as a kick returner, becoming just the second kick returner in franchise history to be selected to the All-NFL teams by the PFWA (KR Roell Preston in 1998).
  • Alexander was named to the PFWA's All-NFC team for the second time in his career (2020).
  • LB Quay Walker was named to the PFWA's All-Rookie team, the first Packer rookie to be selected to the team since 2019. Dating back to 1974, Walker is the eighth Packers LB to make the team, joining John Anderson (1978), Brian Noble (1985), Wayne Simmons (1993), Na'il Diggs (2000), Nick Barnett (2003), A.J. Hawk (2006) and Clay Matthews (2009).

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK/MONTH

  • Nixon was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played in Week 17.
  • Nixon recorded a 105-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Packers' 41-17 win over Minnesota. It marked the longest kickoff-return TD in the NFL this season.
  • This was Nixon's first career Special Teams Player of the Week award.
  • It was the 17th time a Packers returner had been named Special Teams Player of the Week and the first since WR Trevor Davis in Week 14 of 2017. 
  • Nixon was the fourth former South Carolina cornerback to win a Player of the Week award and the first since Johnathan Joseph was named Defensive Player of the Week in Week 6 of the 2017 season.
  • WR Christian Watson was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November. 
  • Watson registered 14 receptions for 289 yards (20.6 avg.) and six TDs in the month of November, the most touchdown receptions among all players that month.
  • Watson is the third Green Bay rookie to win Offensive Rookie of the Month honors, joining running backs Samkon Gado (November 2005) and Eddie Lacy (October 2013).
  • Watson became the second former North Dakota State player to win a Rookie of the Month award, joining QB Carson Wentz (September 2016).
  • Watson was named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 10 after recording four receptions for 107 yards (26.8 avg.) and three touchdowns.
  • Watson was the fourth Packers wide receiver to win the honor, joining Greg Jennings (Week 3, 2006), James Jones (Week 8, 2007) and Romeo Doubs (Week 3, 2022).
  • P Pat O'Donnell was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played in Week 3. O'Donnell punted seven times with a 48.4-yard average (44.7 net) and placed a career-high five punts inside the 20-yard line in the Packers' win over Tampa Bay. 
  • This was O'Donnell's first career Special Teams Player of the Week award and he joined Craig Hentrich (Week 11, 1994) and Tim Masthay (Week 8, 2010; Week 13, 2011; Week 2, 2012) as the third Packers punter to earn the honor. 
  • WR Romeo Doubs was named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 3. Doubs posted eight receptions on eight targets for 73 yards (9.1 avg.) and his first career TD.
  • Doubs was the first player out of the University of Nevada to be named Rookie of the Week.
  • Jones was voted the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week for Week 2 via fan vote.
  • It was the fifth time Jones won the award, tying RB Ahman Green for the most Ground awards by a Packer. 
  • Since 2017, when Jones entered the league, he is tied for fourth-most Ground wins with Alvin Kamara and Joe Mixon. Only Derrick Henry (15), Dalvin Cook (six) and Jonathan Taylor (six) have more in that timeframe.
