The Green Bay Packers announced the addition of 17 new coaches who joined the staff in May and June as part of the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. Head Coach Matt LaFleur made the announcement on Monday.
The offensive staff is assisted by former Packers offensive tackle Byron Bell (Illinois), former NFL wide receiver/tight end Jordan Matthews, Madison Bunch (Ball State), Sheldon Croney (Penn State), Dylan Doyle (Cal Lutheran), John Miller (Indiana), Lindsey Scott Jr. (Texas Tech) and Micah Simon (Michigan).
Defense/special teams is joined by former Packers linebacker Nate Palmer (New Mexico), former NFL safety Jordan Richards, Chase Jones (Notre Dame), Josh Jones (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) and Kye Stewart (Illinois State).
The strength and conditioning staff is assisted by Quinn Barham (Kentucky), Jeremiah Ortiz (Wisconsin), Myles Quimby (Purdue) and Kerry Thompson (Columbus High School, Miami).
Josh Jones has participated in the program with the Packers before.
Green Bay has hired five previous Bill Walsh interns to full-time coaching positions over the past few seasons (Anthony Perkins, Myles White, Cory Harkey, Jeremiah Kolone, Noah Pauley).
The Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship is designed as a vocational tool to increase the number of full-time NFL minority coaches. The program's objective is to use NFL clubs' offseason workout programs and minicamps to give talented coaches opportunities to observe, participate, gain experience and ultimately gain a full-time NFL coaching position.
