The Green Bay Packers announced several promotions and additions to their player personnel department. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
John Dorsey (pictured, left), who is entering his 22nd season in NFL personnel, has been promoted to director – football operations. He previously served as a college scout (1991-97) and director of college scouting (1997-98, 2000-2011) for the Packers and as director of player personnel for the Seattle Seahawks (1999).
Eliot Wolf (pictured, right), who is entering his ninth season with the club, has been promoted to director of pro personnel. He spent his first four years with the Packers as a pro personnel assistant and the next three as assistant director of pro personnel. In 2011, Wolf served as the team's assistant director of player personnel.
Brian Gutekunst, who is entering his 14th season with the organization, has been promoted to director of college scouting. He spent the past 11 seasons as a college scout in the Southeast region. Prior to that, Gutekunst served as a scout for the East Coast region from 1999-2000.
Alonzo Highsmith, who is entering his 14th season with the club, has been promoted to senior personnel executive. He spent the past 13 seasons as a college scout for the Southwest region.
Sam Seale, who is entering his 17th season with the Packers, has been promoted to West regional scout. He served as an area scout for the past 16 seasons.
Richmond Williams, who is entering his fifth season with the team, has been promoted to area scout. He served as the team's National Football Scouting representative for the past four seasons.
Chad Brinker, who is entering his third season with the organization, has been promoted to pro scout. He served as a scouting assistant for the past two seasons.
The Packers have hired John Wojciechowski as an area scout, Glenn Cook as a pro scout and Michael Owen as a college scout.
Wojciechowski (woh-jih-cow-skee) spent the past nine seasons with the Dallas Cowboys as the team's Northeast area scout. Prior to that, Wojciechowski spent five seasons scouting for the Jacksonville Jaguars and two seasons as a player personnel assistant with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a first-team all-conference selection as a defensive end at Duquesne University.
Cook served as a scouting assistant for the Indianapolis Colts in 2011. He also worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Miami after lettering four times (2004-06, 2008) for the Hurricanes at linebacker. Cook appeared in 47 games with 17 starts at Miami and led the team with 76 tackles as a senior.
Owen was a four-year letterman (2006-09) at Syracuse University, playing tight end, defensive end and linebacker during his career. Elected a team captain as a senior, he finished his career with 36 receptions for 319 yards (8.9 avg.) and three TDs. Owen served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Riverhead (N.Y.) High School, each of the past two seasons.
The promotions and additions are part of a player personnel department that also includes Tim Terry, Lee Gissendaner, Jon-Eric Sullivan, Danny Mock and Autumn Thomas-Beenenga.
