The Green Bay Packers have signed K Zach Ramirez and released WR Alex Gillett, QB Graham Harrell, WR Omarius Hines, RB Angelo Pease, DT Gilbert Peña and WR Justin Wilson. The transactions were announced Sunday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.
Ramirez, a 6-foot, 212-pound rookie out of Portland State, participated in the Seattle Seahawks' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis in May 2013. As a junior in 2011, he was named first-team All-America (FCS) by The Associated Press and earned first-team All-Big Sky Conference honors after connecting on a school-record 24 field goals on 27 attempts (88.9 percent). Ramirez was limited to six games as a senior in 2012 due to a knee injury and made 4 of 7 field goals. He will wear No. 1 for the Packers.
